I try to be
Bigger
Better
Faster
Stronger
I try to stay away
Distant
Isolated
Encapsulated
Unreachable
I try to fool myself to think I'm
Invincible
Unbeatable
Unbreakable
The master
I do know this
I am not the silver tongue
He manifests himself when he wants
I'm not nearly as talented
As eloquent
He is what I could never be
Yet his words pour from my pen
I am a tool
Nothing more

When I want to give in, I think of you
And all that you've done for me, friend.

I can't give in to this and hurt you
I won't hurt you like this, not in this way.

What if i told you,
That the reason why i date you,
Is to make poems of you?

What if i told you,
That i never truely loved you,
Rather i only needed you?

What if i told you,
I gain inspiration by being with you,
And by breaking up with you?

What if i told you,
I write of the things you do,
And the pains you put me through?

What if i told you,
I expect the heart break from losing you,
It helps me get a better point of view?

So forgive me for ever hurting you,
My poetry always comes before you,
Only her do I trust as really true.

he replaced the washer,
the refrigerator too

he liked new appliances; they
reminded him of her

especially when he opened the freezer and found
not a pint of her Haagen-Dazs Vanilla

the new washer contained old ghosts as well
for he blasphemed her by washing on hot

a prohibition when she was still here, for fear
of shirts shrinking, she always claimed

he wondered what words of hers would haunt him
when he gutted the wall for a new oven

maybe it would just be the longing for the smell
of cookies baking  (chocolate chip)

the ones she prepared for the grandsons, the day
she took a "quick nap" and never woke up

Words

We live in a wired and weird world
where meanings of our words
are paper-thin tissue and torn
tarnished and worn by wear and War.

Spread love like an infectious disease,
To rid malice, strife and negativity with ease,
Let your light shine like the summers rays,
Embracing your fellow man creating better days,
For starters pay it forward without acknowledgement or compensation,
Spread this germ generously and watch the loving mutation.

Love Wins…..
