I Am..

Justin G
I do not identify myself as a black american
I do not identify myself as an activist
I do not identify myself
As anything other than what I am
Do not arbitrate my existence
It will only magnify your bigotry
Do not lecture me
It will not ratify your ministry
Do not objectify my identity
Do not marginalize my sincerity
I know your criticism
It will not dwindle me
I am defiantly deaf to it
It will not compute
Trust me
It will only intensify
What I occupy
Do not subject me to anomaly
Do not try and direct me
I will not comply
Do not concern yourself
with my essentiality
I am not lost
Do not concern yourself
With what defines me
Just ask
If I am willing and able.

THE BISHOPS EYE
 May 2017 HLK
zebra
she was 3 feet 7 inches
with enlarged aureoles
that almost entirely
covered her small *******
and an *** so mondo
that it needed a wheel barrel
to hold it so she could walk upright

her lips where plush for kissing
with a look on her face
that caught the Bishops eye
and caused him to growl lecherously
his stunted reddened member enlarged
while she postured
giddy
pretending to hang herself
over the toilet bowl

this is how they spent most Saturday nights
in the rectory
their favorite little routine
as Christ looked on
his eyes shrouded in
the darkest Dior sunglasses

she pranced and gurgled
went slack-jawed
her tongue flapping
turning vermilion
drooping and feigning death spasms
pretending to perish
inspiring him to beatific *******
as he sacrificed their babies
to the oblivion
of a toilet paper ***
thus kneeling between her legs
he became the humble recipient
of adorations *******

It thinks of other catfishes

from north in Kaduna  of Okigbo to south in the Rhoben Island
of Mazizi Kunene and D M Zwelonke who sang the song of Shaka;
in Zulu Heroism that beautified our face in the armpit of Ezkia Mphalele,
the sons of Africa in the knighthood of poetry, chantery and incantations
you are hailed with with glory and dignity for your service to humanity
your service to literature and gods of poetry in the spirit of the song
that we chant in the spirit of love and peace the glory of hour heritage
is an eyesore to the lazy ; who though ill will can stop the flow of African river,

Sing our songs and chant our spirituals as you write our poems
open your poetic ***** for the world is a ******
in which the seed of African poetry will plummet and flower
to glory of man the essence of Godliness,

Let Soyinka and Achebe sing our songs without fear of home
As Okot P' Btek  revamps from the ashes like a phoenix
to re-plant the bumpkin in the old homestead of Taban Lo Liyong
Who sang the cacotpic song in the dystopia of black diaspora
when he saw another ****** dead in the guest for Nocturnes of Senghor
who feared  Marxist poetry and African songs which Aime Cesaire chanted
in the mayoralty of Paris.

BRIDE

zebra
her soul a bride
her life a corpse at the gate
a naked mouth red
to lie exposed
without shame
to be rendered unconscious
to be touched, incised, plundered,
and remade
coyly she displays
the weight of her emptiness
chest heaving
her torso acquiescent
aching for the forbidden
her legs parted
saturated like
rain storms bilious cloud
ripe melon brooding
spilling outwards
she would levitate
if only held down
by a merciless man

POISON WOOD

eyes in the trees
slick brindled bark
like overgrown
muscled animals
every hamlet filled with life
delicate toads
war colors like origami kaleidoscopes
in clutching copulation
secreting their viscous eggs
onto moistened leaves and petals
vines strangling their neighbors
wrestling for sunlight
a million years of combat
ant warrior slaves
breaching a **** of
a herculean tree
harvested in descending labyrinths
for there insatiable queen
royal *****

the forest eats herself
and lives forever
all of nature
a choir of
vibrant doomed blossoms
******* life out of death
like rats in a bag of snakes
glory one moment
damnation the next
a rhythmic limp through hell
with a fly that devils him

I have eyes
But I don't see what I don't like
I have ears
But I won't hear what I don't want to hear
I have a memory
But only remember what's convenient
I have thoughts
But I keep them in safe cages
I have a mind
But I refuse to change it

And so, you see

Let rhetoric over-rule logic
Let fake news obscure truth
Let corruption replace propriety
Let bluster confound reason
Let nepotism overcome merit
Let democracy be obliterated
As long as I don't have to admit I was wrong

Blooming Words
she was so focused on figuring out the flaws of people
she forgot to look for the strengths
the good
so she was left thinking
people ultimately are only a mess
but yet she was never able to see
and take a step back to figure out
we are all a mess
but together
we are an artwork
