In my world there is a gem...
On which there are two
predominant facets.
It has never been just me,
or just you...
It is us...
Marooned on a little cast off islet.

If I could take just one sip
from the fount of transitory courage,
I'd take the leap
into waters deep.
So I could pave the route
for our safe passage.

To freedom and love...
Without restrictions or restraint.
If only we could...
We'd harness from the infinite palette above
and with it,
boundless magic
we would paint.

Venom dreams of waving smiles
Circled suns all caught in a line
Made of lead tears
That wished you were made
A promise that broke the earth
In a perfect peace.

And then the rain of blues
And the words of white
That washed against the sea walls
And flew kites
Fast against the childhood skies
And made music
For the deaf.

Sunship dreams of *** in rivers
Of ***** that flowed like milk
In a harmony Hellenistic
Like mosaics of the buried past.

Venom dream of number nine
In the ways you will be mine
To hold and love forever.

Serpent sails for the guns of tomorrow
Not bullets in your ironclad heart
That cannot pierce no love or feeling
But rhyme always
Against the fallen grain.

I know the flowers better everyday
their twisting stems
their curtain petals
their floating spice

I know the flowers better everyday
their capillary roots
their plum faces
their purple stamens

I know the flowers better everyday
their shaking seeds
their modest thorns
their unabashed lust for the sun

I know the flowers better everyday
I know the sun will rise
I know the clouds will rain
I know my daughter will laugh

I know the flowers better everyday
I’ll draw a fence for flowers
I’ll draw a muzzle for the sheep
I’ll draw a number for the man to crunch

I know the flowers better everyday
I know how lovely it is to feel
grass in between toes
the breath of a boa
the embrace of home

I know the flowers better everyday
I am forty
I am a mother
I love fearlessly

Even with my eyes closed
I can see you near me
even when the darkness
of the night closes in.

I can touch you,
smell you in the moonlight and
my
senses reel in the
revolving of you
wanting you to do those
things
when you know
I love you.

In the early
mornings
when
you reach out
with fingers
that paint words
and pictures in my long
tousled hair,
lips that tell me you're
everywhere.

One more moment with you
and I feel blessed,
it's one more moment
that together
we share,
one more moment I can
show you I care,
even with my eyes closed
I can tell that it's her.

Know I've been around
You've been on my mind, subconsciously
I think too much
Our feelings have faded
Act like you know better
I know I haven't been around
I haven't forgotten you
Your name stimulates my heart
My chords vibrated from the start
Your seat has not been taken
I've been so far gone
I've been so led on
I've formed broken bonds
Established severed connections
I feel it
I can feel it
This rush of adrenaline in my veins
Oh no, oh no, no, no
This is Hope telling me to keep going
How do you sit down and quit?

You don't
Hope is always on your side. If you feel like your life is only going to get worse, I want you to know that the Sun always shines through the clouds if it's bright enough. Never give up, because the hard times will make you appreciate the golden times. You CAN do it.

your eyes meet mine in a collision of universes,
our lines of sight intersecting in a cross space
of foggy despairs and moon-watching    from well-bottoms
your hand   is     hesitant       on my face.

in the eclipse of your searching eyes i can see reflected
endless galaxies and the lunar phases,
and in mine you looked, only to find black holes
emptier than our words and as warm as our embraces.

i put all i had into you but you were still empty;
your eyes were enraptured by an unmapped space to explore,
while mine were fixed, grounded to you:

this is      a truth so loud we can't ignore.

A train that never leaves the station
a bird with broken wings
an acid rain killing the spring flowers
I am
the clouds covering the full moon,
a funeral
the desert's freezing nights
I am
the thoughts that won't let you sleep at night
the deepest paper cut,
an illness with no cure
I am
the dust covering your lungs
the antagonist in your stories,
the cold wind hurting your bones.

I am the pain that hurts you the most.
I am the pain that loves you the most.
