Why do you write?

I get overwhelmed easily and words on paper and on a screen are highly effective means of externalising that

I cant read others poems often without crying and am inspired to write of my own

Writing calms me and although at times its already too late, it stops me from doing or saying something ill regret

So I write for sanity
Peace of mind
For clarity
To express myself
Set myself free
Empty my head
Get over myself
People to see how I am
To hide away
Not show myself like I am in poems to people
You can tell alot about someone just by looking at their poems and most popular. You can see when theyre up, down, times, moods and current state of being
we all write for something or someone

The alchemy of memory
Will not transform me
Turning gold into dirt
Does nothing to ease the hurt
I find little of value in this earth
All that is, is so transient
All my memories will go
The way of death
Partly fading into nothing
Partly falling into obscurity
So all that security
Means nothing you see

A boy asked me today if I was happy,
And I couldn't answer.

And when I told him "I don't know,"
He told me I did.

Today a boy asked me
What makes me happy,
and I couldn't answer.
In most cases, I'd tell him it was him.
But it was too simple,
too in-the-moment.

Do you ever meet someone
and wonder how they could love you,
and more importantly how someone
couldn't be crazy about them?

I want to learn the crooks and crannies
of your ******* skin,
and I want to learn the wheels
in your brain that turn
when you wait for me to answer -

What makes you happy?

And I wish I knew,
I wish I could tell you it is you.

How will you know
When you pass through a forest
If your eyes are
Glued to the road
How will you see all the life
That abounds
If your eyes are
Always closed

How will you hear
All the sounds in the air
How will you witness
The beauty that’s there
If you can’t spare a minute
For the red breasted Linnet
Or the little green Finch
And her operatic pitch

Or just for a moment
Stop to admire
The dappled twig arbors
And the great blue sky
Heaven has spilled out
All of her flavors
And all of this beauty
Is just yours to savor
If you stop for a second
The Larks song is pliant
Her cantor an echo
That her fledglings can follow.

This was a poem about suicide
Now it is dead

Yeah,
I'm stranded in
The middle of the ocean

Yeah,
It's because you left me
And took the boat

Yeah,
That hurts
But it's okay

*Just make sure you get home safe
I don't care if I die, as long as he stays safe, even though he is the reason I'm sad

You want to **** me?
Here's the knife

Or
Just say,
I don't care about you

**And I'll handle it for you
Break my heart again, I'll be a goner
