Blue is the color of unrequited love
Grey the emptiness therein
Paint a perfect portrait of the loneliness thereof
And color me lonesome again

©Jason Cole
This is a Hank Williams inspired fragment.
Near the Houston hotel sitting on the bench,
looking at the warring sun,

  I see it's thoughts
fill the amber sky.

I feel. The heat -

Pouring on the the pillars of the blue and purple shoreline.

Her.

As the sunset runs in

The stars twinkle like a dying headlight, a
deer passes by the ocean. And immediately
the rain falls, my blue jeans are soaked, and the
crash of clouds and thunder with enormous rain fill the night air.

I race and reach for the memories.

Running through the ocean blue,
Searching for her silver eyes,
The sky stands black along the naked coastline.
Still running, crushing, subduing
the *****, lobsters, and rocks underneath
the open earth.

I'm running to find her eyes again.

Where home felt so new, against her wit and lovely sarcasm,
and her untimely ways, my life never felt so real,
I stand on mountains looking for a place to kneel
before her silver eyes.

In the distance, I hold the warmth of her hands,
For in the secrets of her dress, her name reverberates
like blue Texan rivers.

Her smile hangs like the moon over water,
and I breathe my dreams out for her, my sweet surrender.
My 10th poem!

.

Her smile is a
graceful beauty
on an ardent sky
like writing poetry
with a willow leaf
dipped in desire

an eternal verse
of sunrise surprises,
moon shadow promises
and forever truth
in permanent ink,
*forever ending in love

The beauty of music
is in the written notes that are to be heard
The beauty of a poem
is in the shaking voice that is about to read it out loud
The beauty of love
is in the two breaths that break the strained atmosphere
The beauty of everything
is in disturbing the undiversified silence that reigns all around

Silence is peaceful
or at least that is what people say
they say they NEED it
to calm them
to bring them comfort
But to me silence brings only
agony
and loneliness
and emptiness
and pain
And why would I need silence to give these to me
when I already have them from you?
I'll be your narcotic
Use me to your advantage
I'll make you numb and forget
but not exactly...

I'll be your shot of *****
the one you shouldn't take
but you'll drink me anyway
even if you go insane

I'll be your last cigarette
burn me and feel at ease
from your mouth to your lungs
even if you exhale me
I'll be your addiction
Hiding behind text messages
we believe immunizes the heart
is a forced loneliness
a perpetual confinement
in a dark room, with low music
which only breeds madness

In such famine, the body desires touch
the soul craves fellowship
the mind requires intellectualism
laughs between true friends
and shared tears
of kindred spirits

Once we can no longer bear starvation
comes the gluttonous feast
As wretched hogs at a trough
any form of attention is consumed
to fill the growing chasm of
worthlessness

Blinded by false admiration on backlit screens
the body, the soul, and the mind savors
cheap flattery of dark temptations
Vulgarity drools thick as blood from blackened lips
The sweet tinge of grief
that bitter hit of hatred
spirals descent into the dark void
that forever hides the light
To be included in my next collection, **** River Sins.

blank stares swamped
with echoes in the head

blank papers filled
with scribbles in the mind

blank verses whelmed
with currents in the soul

i’m a fresh spirit
with a blank facade

No sound is needed
To hear you declaring your love
When your fingers are writing
Poetry on my naked back

No phrase is needed
To understand that you're missing me
When I can feel your presence
In the heat of the sun and rain

No sight is needed
To see how much you care
When it's my neck and cheek
You snuggle like reading braille

Iloveyou, baby
And I'm happy that we're happy
