you might be crying
you might have waterfalls cascading down from those shimmering scarred tear ducts
collecting down in a stormy ocean of violent waves
as you treacherously try to stay afloat
screeching for air as you try to stay afloat in the vast abyss that is
your mind
but one day darling,
you will dance
you will dance freely into the night
and suddenly everything is alright
you will dance and you will cry, life is about it all

Poetry is heavy as lead
in my mouth.

Tree branches find more grace
in a wind that’s ragged.

They call me

In here there’s no meaning “

i take verses from song
of solomon so as to feel
what’s it’s like to be loved
like the shullamite girl
i wrap the verses of isaiah
‘round the rings of my simple fingers
so as not to forget all that is promised
i grasp the verses of revelation
in an unshakable fist
so as not to fear what is to come

the chain
is as strong as its weakest link
harmartia
you have oxidized the chains
that had guarded my
mind and heart
you weakened and exposed
the harmartia in me
leaving me ashamed
unforgivable and
unloveable

your touch
is encapsulating
your succinct
glances are
just enough to
keep my soil watered
and love rooted
the poetry flows
colloquially through my arteries
you are only art to me
