Let me slam this into the badly written times tables that multiplied off the amount of sorrys we shared on a late night in July. Bash it up against the ocean front with just enough fabric to soak in the soft moments when your eyes rested in mine.

Cave mouths flooded with fluoride, always leaving a bitter moment of regret. We said we were free spirits. Spirits weighed down by laundry bags full of bad regrets from divided moments we used the wrong side of our brains.

Your hand, it rested on my leg like a bible that has seen too many promises and not enough follow through. While the world sputtered in the wrong, our hearts moved in the right.

I found love,
in the eyes of a boy.
Or should I say a man.
Who is as alluring as poetry
and just as elaborate.

I am surrounded by the ocean,
as I drown,
my vision turns black,
but he rescues me
and somedays I rescue him.
somehow,
we chase away the darkness
from each others hearts.

They cut down trees to build major cities,
to pave new roads.
What happens to the people?
They cut down trees in our hearts,
pave roads for themselves.
They build cities with their names in lights.
But what happens when they leave?
The cities become abandoned,
the lights begin to flicker.
They've permanently built a city in your heart,
making your blood pump thicker.
People come and go,
but the ones you truly remember,
are those whose lights still flicker,
even after they've been gone forever.

the end
drew me back to
the unknown
into grey matter
before anything turns
I ran away,
I took all of them
as if all memories are to throw

renewing the thoughts
deleting the past
saved on my camera roll -
your crystal clear candid shots
into sleepless metaphors
the nights you stole

with our brief barely breathing history
time seemed to align
where it flew
I was not sure how it went
the drinks, the laughs
those that came out our lungs

and the gust of sighs where i lost my mind
with our touching eyesights
we began
