The last time we kissed
I broke out in hives
from the honey on her breath
and the sting of her lies.
I swear, I'd die a thousand deaths
if she were the queen of my hive.

Not sure how it landed here,
I found it in my lot
and bending down to pick it up
amused at what I'd got

I looked a little closer
since I had a little time
It's a good thing that  I bothered
for the thing inspired this rhyme.

Though you can't tell from poetry
if the writer knows your name
I could see by four lines in
the gender and it's aim.

The poem, it was well written
on a scrap and by his hand
just two lines in, I'm smitten
although four is my demand.

and this one was a couplet
seems he'd written it for fun
just four lines to tell his girl
she's got his heart undone.

as giddy as my thoughts can be
this struck me sad, my dear,
since poems that mean to say as much
are often less than clear.

The first two lines he scribbled down
were warming at the start
" I'd love to drive you home tonight
and fire up your heart."

The second two I do believe
had crumpled note in part,
"If I could have that honor, dear
I'll need some gas to cart."

I understood his poetry
weird rhymes can flow with ease
apparently his bottom line
was not a point to please.

Or maybe he had never passed
that note, and thrown it down
perhaps the wind had taken it
and blown it through the town

and just perhaps it ended up
this couplet, just for me
to understand how words can halt
or fuel my love for thee.
I look out onto this life I have designed
This concrete house with ivy enveloping the walls
I look at these faces, these many features that blur
I remember each one, every smile and chipped tooth
I look at my walls, where pictures used to hang
There are now sticky tac marks and ripped wallpaper
I look at myself, hidden amongst books and art
I have everything I need right here, right now

I find myself completely alone
Unburdens the dusky river

dreams of flow dead in the bog of hyacinth
harvest burnt in the scorch of aridity
ripples robbed by the silt of dogma
sunbeam denied by the **** of creed

I was meant to reach the sea,
now I would never make it.

I pick the river's shattered pieces
with my own from the wintry dusk.

I feel as if I’ve stumbled upon Wonderland.
Where there’s no sadness,
Only madness.
Driven by insane desire,
The desire to live.
To repent.
Tea parties forever ongoing.
Waiting for the guest of honor,
Who may never show.
Flowers singing.
God is the caterpillar.
The royal adviser is a white rabbit,
Who is almost always late.
This world is so maddening.
How do you stay?
Is it because you’re mad too?
Because you can’t tell.
It’s normal for you.
So nothing is mad.
All is sane.

Delilah baby I can feel the weight of you in my arms.

I can feel my k to z love for you and see how that laugh of yours makes people cry
and how that smile pierces my heart because it looks just like his did.

I can feel the sun kissing each one of our toes as we sit overlooking the grand canyon in the kaleidoscope sunset.
your spider fingers are wrapped in my hair like a plea to never be left alone
your spindle legs are all knobby kneed and pale entwined with mine.

baby he left me not you.

I was a hurricane and he loved you too much to look

afraid that one glance and he'd be head over heels reeling out of control
like you were the drug and he was the addict.

they say everything happens for a reason and you are my reason.

Delilah baby you are the here and the now of forever.
the stop sign on the corner is an obstacle for street racers but its a godsend because its just enough of a pause for me to kiss you between the eyes.

and I can't ever finish anything so this story isn't complete

and at the top of the pass where the air is clear enough if we sing loud enough maybe he will hear us and remember who he left behind.

I like the fog during the night
To smell the ice cold and feel the cold
To see that white cloud between my skin
Tangling my brown hair
I like to smell the fog and how he makes a sinister air
To look and feel that breeze covering the old trees and autumm leaves
I like the fog and to feel the cold entering my troat
To say that it reminds me of winter
I like the contrast between the foggy white and the city's light
But I love the scent of fog

Time stained by a mind filled with **** as
I stepped on the mush covered soil
I dare not listen to the obscenities of fabled mouths and crooked smiles
They lie to me as the cockroaches scamper across the floor
Leaving their disease ridden tracks and their dead children to rot

Why do I walk on these calloused soles?
Blistered skin and **** drained sores fester with my very step of time
I'd rather crawl, crawl with no remorse or conscious left
Drained and tired muscles cramp as I feel their seizure on my tired bones
The pain crucifies me deep

More **** stirs inside, whispered voices of past enemies linger
Lies and more lies, you lying *******
You snapped the ******* life out of me
I lost my own mind waiting for someone to say "***** you, *******, who the hell are you?"
Arms scratched with the razor's edge
Drop the drip and watch the filth flow
A little mouthy rant with a deeper message, hope you.understand

I wish we didn't have to pretend
I wish we could all be painfully honest
I wish I didn't have to pretend I didn't miss you
I wish could tell you that I thought of you today
I smelled the air
It was cold and crisp
You loved the cold
It smelled like fall
Fall.
I remember falling in love with you as the dead leaves fell
Everything around us was dying
But I felt like I was finally living
Fall reminds me of falling in love with you
It's so beautiful
But it in the end everything dies
The trees are left bare and cold
Just like me
Just like my heart
Light, dancing wildly
Spectrums of colour, of creation
I look at my reflection
Against the cool glass
my breath staining it like frost
Sometimes I am transparent
like this mirror, like this cold air
and still, I look into myself
the crushing weight of the world
making the glass pulse
and my pulse, shatter
My emotions bleed out onto a wood frame
seeping through and taking shape
Turbulent, uncertain, blazing, brilliant
Is this me?
My inner turmoil made flesh
inside this glass tomb

I am, as I have always been,
On the wrong side of the mirror.
"I look inside myself and find perfect emptiness"

Hear ye!
Hear ye!
Oh how I love concrete poetry!
Itching to write and sculpt and mould.
Twiddle my thumbs as I thought to myself silently.
Reckon I'd render my musings in italics and in bold!

Hear ye!
Hear ye!
30 days of concrete, wouldn't you fancy?!
These poems, they come in various shapes.
Would you consider them "poetic eye candy"?
If I fashioned poems to look like grapes!

Hear ye!
Hear ye!
Awashed with excitement!
I can't wait to share!
Fantastical, delicious and ultimately succulent!
A wonderful spread of such wordy fare!

Hear ye!
Hear ye!*
When is this... GREAT BIG AFFAIR?
On the morrow, I'll dish out the first serving!
Do tune in if you so do care...
30 days of concrete! The shape fest is beginning!
Greetings! I will be posting a concrete poem each day for the next 30 days. It's a huge undertaking and I'm really pumped up about it! Stay tuned... :)

She tries to keep her smile hidden,
To hold it inside of her
For just a moment longer
Before letting it out
All at once.

You don't need to hide your joy from me
Don't keep it locked inside.
Set it free for all to see,
We could all use a little laughter.
We could all use a little sun.

You're so light,
I'll say it again.
You put the sun to shame.
There's no other way to say it.
No other words can express
The way you light up a room
Just by simply
Being in it.

She stretches out her arms
And lets out a sigh.
Before pulling her palms
Above her head.
She's tired.
It's time for the sun to get some rest.

Cue the moon.
He walks in after a long day at work.
He hates it.
He wants wants to quit.
He wants to leave.
But instead,
He kisses me.

You're so smooth,
So wise,
So calming.
You give me chills
The way you shimmer
In the middle of the night.

Your tender lips
Form a crescent
Against your face
As they turn upward
To greet me.

Sunshine can be nice
But I'll spend my nights
With the moon.
I'll see you in the morning
My dear light.
