I don't think I earned my name
When I was born, my mother sighed
               the second she
           was finished crying
Saturate the atmosphere and mix me in
              with molecules.
Invisible. I'm only air.
At least until I am exhaled.
                   And then?
Carbon monoxide. Waste product.
            Respiratory excreta.

I don't think I want my name.
And, even though I love this place,
                    the fact remains
                    it don't love me
                  and I can't make it...

They still get bored so fast.
And I can't tell if I can blame them.
                     But it used to last
                        a little longer.
           Longer strides and clearer eyes.
Aching less from years' less crying.

Ache with me? I'm begging you.
Stay awhile or call me crazy. Just don't keep me caught
                           on this line.
No more warm or candied lies, no jangling nerve, anxiety
or brutal, ****** truths out hunting.

I know I am not interesting, but mercy on me please.
don't leave me yet or tire...
But, no, I am uninteresting--the gravest crime of our day.

I don't think you know my name.

Eve
fly up to heaven!
you soul, too soon asleep,
but see our pebbles,
made of our weeps,
you soul departed,
too soon for us to keep

you soul that sang,
once in bloom,
rest now deep
beneath the flowery gloom,
rest now deep
you soul departed,
but too soon the bells toll seeps

you soul held dear,
you mustn’t feel fear,
time is through,
you got nothing left to do,
but to be in peace,
heavens forever to keep

so you soul departed,
too soon for us to keep,
let us now be
too soon the ones who weeps.

Eve
if i die young, know i died unhappy and life’s unfair,
if i grow old and die traditionally,
know i died unhappy and life was a misery

i’d tell you a tale
of all of my life’s history
but it would all be derailed and all sound pale
in the words of my mouths contradictory
so i’ll leave you with my frail words for the cemetery;

if i die young, know i died unhappy and life’s unfair,
if i grow old and die traditionally,
know i died unhappy and life was a misery

when i’ll die, i’ll die artistically
candle lights, speaking words lyrically
and if youll ask me if i could go back and do it all again, if i’d make a change,
i’d say in a heartbeat
and if i did, i wouldn’t have to repeat

if i die young, know i died unhappy and life’s unfair,
if i grow old and die traditionally,
know i died unhappy and life was a misery

for i didn’t do it my way,
i did it life’s way
if a decision could have swayed
me in another direction,
i would be happier, in the life of my correction,
that got lost and died with life
while i waited to come back to mine

so if i die young, know i died unhappy and life’s unfair,
if i grow old and die traditionally,
know i died unhappy and life was a misery

and to my life, i miss you
and to my cat-child, i miss you
and to my moms eyes, i miss you
and to my sister-child, i miss you
and to what was once mine, i miss you
getting some things off my chest

The glass and steel high-rises
I always harbor hostility.
They stand like soldiers ranked before a city gate,
like guns aimed at strangers,
asserting their strength.

To shade the high-rises—there must be trees.
lush trees,
ancient trees—like bouquets
rest in tank barrels.
They cannot withstand the iron cold,
cannot withstand the searing burn,
but they can loosen,
the guard I keep within.

Every night you look like winter
Perfect moonlit landscape glow
To see you sweet relief I shiver
Like a child awaiting first snow.

Cloudless blue elastic river
Catching the morning sun
You give me strength without I quiver
Our life together just begun

Ancient myrrh in essence a sliver
Thought of captured light
Your open eyes deliver.

Eight legged beauty
Spinning your web architect
Stare in amazement
Haiku
Spiders are so industrious
Limbless
In a vacuum
Swims my mind

Little flower
That blooms
Anonymous

Leaf abound green
Leafless chills
In autumn

Awake the owl
Night sleeps
It preys

Truth is layered
The Sun defies
Lies

Broken
The words
Knew a chain

In the midst
of a morning walk
I followed a trail
of purple
flowers
fallen
and ripe
that led me to
the mother tree
who has grown
heavy
with too much
beauty to carry
Ashrafieh, is a magical place in Beirut, Lebanon. It has those purple floral trees who decorate not only its appeal but also the streets after they have fallen.
It has a certain feel to it, when you see them, you feel the cusp of summer that will flood the city with heat, but yet in the midst of everything has hit the ground, there's so much beauty to the fallen.

Is this water still water
in the photo taken a moment ago,
or is it reflecting the sky
in a dark mirror of wishes,
drifting through the mind?

Do the thoughts wear the words?
Do they embrace stillness and truth?
There is no single pattern to interpret.
Alternative facts appear credible.

What was predictable, a sweet certainty,
became a distant mirage of memories,
touching softly reality and its interpretations,
sealed tightly in the crystal bottle,
sinking slowly into oblivion without regrets.

Canceled words are so infinite and quiet,
bringing a deep indigo relief,
inexpressible and so beautiful.
No doubts. No screams.
Just a peaceful self-reconciliation.
