Why did I cull corn just like all the
other chickens
At what point did I betray musical talent
for endless , repetitive nowhere living
To be eighteen again , 'tis a popular tune
sung by many
What caused me to write poetry for the first time
seven months ago , which fork in the avenue carried
me to everlasting love , why do I find great solace in being
alone
What force drives me to trouble my fellow writers
at this late hour with the roads I've chosen

Darkness swaddles moonlight,
Bamboo groves sing lullaby,
Love moves the still air.

The river has gone underground ,a cracked dry bed of a mouth
where the tongue lays bereft as a washed up fish on muddy banks
trying to breathe through gills, clogged with the very surrounding air ,no longer able to swim, just flap out its final strength until dead. This is the tongue of a poet who once sung from dawn till dusk, into the watches of the night, and found a delight in every small fountain gushing out the places so eagerly sought, and found in the wilderness, the oasis of song.
The clear spring of the river gushing from the great mystery of life, once more, just once more is all that's asked.

Stayed home from work today
It's gonna come a flood they say
But I've seen worse than this o.k.
I should have went on in anyway

Cause it's barely raining outside
But it's pouring in my heart

I hate to be alone this way
In this bed where you once laid
Thinkin' about the love we made
Looks like I made a big mistake

See it's barely raining outside
But it's pouring in my heart

I've tried to keep my mind off you
Drive around sometimes til 2
Turn my radio down on songs sung blue
What's a lonely boy to do?

When it's barely raining outside
But it's pouring in my heart

God we used to laugh a lot
It's like we read each others thoughts
I still can hear the times we talked
Your memory is near- it's you I've lost

And it's barely raining outside
But it's pouring in my heart
Song poem.

Colten Sorrells
pen and pad in my pocket
and I'm ******* on a switchblade
got horns and a halo
but I can't seem to behave

I know just what to say to you
so you'll think I'm a keeper
let me get a little closer, now
so I can cut you deeper

It's about 4 a.m.
The early morning sky is painted orange
Man...it's magical!!!
I just can't take my eyes off it
There is just that little ray of light
But the birds ain't waitin'
They have already started their morning flight
A nice cool breeze is blowing all across
Barely anyone on the streets
The beauty and energy all around makes feel so very positive
I stretch my arms and legs
Then close my eyes and take in all of the serene offerings of the early morning
And a little later i walk up to the mosque and offer my morning salah
It's one of the best mornings i've ever seen
I must admit...
...i'm not usually a morning person
But there are certain priceless joys attached to waking up early
'Salah' means prayer.

Listening to the music of past
Seemingly I understand it better now
All the words paint a picture of my life
A marble creation with a brake
The music that first saved me
Doing it all over again
Holding my hand
Right till the end
Screams to you
Are whispers of hope to me
You don't understand the words
Because you don't understand how they were written
I understand
I know the pen
That moved along the music sheets
It's was used to write my own story...
It was all in the past
Or so I thought
Because here I am
Listening to the past
All over again
Finally feeling save
Finally feeling free
Beer will cause a fool to bray amongst his kin like a "Jack ***"..
Hard liquor will alert the entire town of his alter-ego !

She was the
heavenly centerfold
in the magazine
of his imagination.
Taunting angel ****.
Too unreal to touch,
too real not to try.
