Snow leopard lying in the grass
pressed up against the glass
Kids fighting to get past
it's 80 degrees, open air
a look of desperation we share...

I have too much empathy to enjoy the zoo.

Pick up the strands
Unwounded painstakingly
Making the rope weaker
Hands that held on to it
Now cannot rely on its strength
Weakened bonds may give away
Before it’s too late
Pick up the strands
Let the hands work together
Test its strength
United with passion
Now bonds will be stronger

spreads her legs to the warming sun.

The McDougal family farm
set in the rolling green hills,
Petaluma California,
Where small towns know how to live,
And neighbors take care of each other,
Our family farm,
Five thousand square feet
of slaughtered chickens
feeling the love of what it means
To be in a family farmers tender care,
From our ****** floors

From our family to yours
with tender loving care.

Gliding through this timeless labyrinth
My sight can't pierce so thick a mist.
Alone in my vessel,
just drifting clumsily...
Anxiety wrung raw in these cold, clammy fists.

All is quiet...
save for the faint sloshing against my tired hull.
I quietened my breath...
Such peace exists now in my vessel.
Slapping gently against my side,
invisible ripples came to lull.

I cannot see what lays ahead...
I do not know of my ultimate destination...
I am alone in my vessel...
Drifting along this watery bed.
Awaiting nothing...
but elusive answers to pointless questions.

I cannot fathom what lies above
the canopy that shields me.
I'd imagine the stars...
Twinkling in codes,
whispering the secrets of the universe.
Unheard to those who will not see.

I'd imagine the ripe new moon...
Beaming down ostentatiously.
Bestowing light upon those who'd croon...
Those who'd shamelessly bask in her majesty.

But many...
Just remain in the darkness.
Submitting to the will of the currents,
getting lost in the odd calmness...
And it's ambiguous resplendence.

Looking around I realise that I'm now not alone...
There are many vessels...
Quiet silhouettes navigating boats of their own.
We all bear the same flag but our own demons we wrestle.

Overwhelming relief...
To see others by my side.
I am now alone with so many others...
In this lonesome boatride.

South by Southwest
*** is a four letter word
Flaunted by very bad vowels
Fevered to ecstacy
By tangled adjectives
And pounded
Into submission
By perverted nouns
That take their free liberty
Of the subjective
Once surrounded by
Iniquity of the parenthesis
You will only utter commas
In Benediction

Mechanically he put out his best press
Straightened his yellowing pages
In spite of little pieces flaking off
Like dandruff

Ow !
His spine was not as strong
As in younger presses

He bathed and used aftershave
But still he had that musty air about him

He lay claim to nervous fame
As he fidgeted with the book markers
About to be given as gifts
For her , his blind date

She came in fresh in expectation
Her beauty made him full of dejection
Her cheerful voice proved
to be more than exhaultation

He fumbled for the first sentence
Of subjection , but
Managed only to say
"Please ! I'm just an open book to be read"

She eased over
And ran her fingers over his cover .
down his bindings ,
then inside his yellowing pages

She sighed ,
with pleasure ,
"Yes , this is my perfection "

Oh these doves they are cooing crazy
a language full of sunrise colors
with a variance of blues they coo
and soon the quails - laughing
the way they do in their morning mood
smaller birds chirp and shrill
the air is melodic music filled
here amid this cactus garden
halcyon songs to the sun
and too these flowers
explode in petals pale yellow
blooming high in the saguaro towers

This Is Life
And I am 30

You may be older or younger

I can tell you human beings share many things
We seek a purpose
Most all of us want to live in peace
And love each other

Most all people love the earth
And respect the earth

We seek a way to make a living
Where we can benefit others in some way

We recognize that material possessions will not last

What does last?
What are the most important qualities the human should have?

I would say to love others
To forgive others

There is too much hate in the world
Let us live with love in our hearts

We are the human race
We live on earth
A planet that orbits the sun
In the milky way galaxy
Isn't that amazing?

But our human race is in trouble
Wars across the globe
Economies on the verge of collapse

Examine yourself
Who you are
And what you stand for

How would you like others to remember you?

The impact we have on others

The people we have inspired or assisted
In their life journey

Will be written into our memories
