I like the way your nose flairs when you laugh
And the way your lip quivers
I like how you stand
And how your words flow like the rivers
Your smile gives me butterflies
In your eyes I become lost
I want to be yours
I’ll keep my fingers crossed

I try to imagine myself as warrior, as fierce, wild and free
Yet some days the tremors grip me and I am left sailing an open ocean while lying under covers
Salty waves harass my body, my open wounds hiss
Yet it is my teardrops that may drown me

I am no longer a human.
I am an animal.

An animal who feeds on sadness.
Who thrives for nothing but deep melancholy.
A melancholic, if you wish.

I thrive for the feeling where you feel nothing.
Not even a spec of eagerness or a dash of enthusiasm.

Because at that point, you're suddenly interesting.
There are men
with loud voices

I've been taught
to fear since birth.

If the intermittence
of skin flashing between
two articles of clothing is
where seduction occurs

then where is the
****** gaping cloth
of a yell?

Is it in the cavernous tongueless space
of parted lips: in some silent inky
strident echoing taste
or
in the tightness of vocal
chords pulled taut, the strain of
raised forehead and neck veins?

There's a weight in
my chest like a weight
in his bed, heavy and
unsatisfied and
thinly veiled.

I think somehow
the look on my face
must be a pleasing design:

a familiar retraceable
state: a reminder that
I don't mind him,

I know my place:
in a small, quiet space,
in his arms when its late,
on the drip of the spit on the tip of
his tongue: a flash of flesh over pale teeth:
a site of intermittence: in a hesitation

a fearful hesitation
barthes, chord progressions

i’ve been thinking a lot
about your hand in mine
the way that our fingers
and palms intertwine

but i think about death
about loss, about worth
i admit that i fear
to return to the earth

where our bodies dissolve
into roots of a tree
and will grow into trunk
then limb, then leaf

but i've heard from a bird
that death will reverse
and your heart will beat hard
like it did at your birth

so hold on for dear life
with your hand in mine
if death makes us let go
it is only for time

The hardest goodbyes are looking into your eyes
and telling you that I have to go

When I'm this far away its so hard to say
what I truly need you to know

I love you so much and it hurts me to leave
because I'm the happiest when I am with you

But because I'm so far, on my heart, there's a scar
That was caused from abandoning you

This isn't farewell but If you can't tell
It hurts me to leave you alone

When I'm lost and away and I want you to stay
I can only reach you by phone

I hate to see you suffer, I hate to see you sad
I want you to feel everything but bad

I am your love, and I swear you are mine
So lets try to take it one step at a time.

I know that this hurts. every week, every day
But with feelings strong like ours, we will find our way

You've helped me find things, new passions, new love
and have lifted me closer, to the stars up above

So when you feel weak, or feel you can't fight
Please go outside and look up in the night

At the stars in which you've brought me closer to
Because I will be also looking at them with you.

You left love notes
Written along my ribcage
You said the spaces
Made perfect lines for poetry
My skin still remembers
Even after I washed you off

it hurts so much
                knowing that
i care, but you don't.

it hurts so much
                knowing that
i'm not important to you.

it hurts so much
                knowing that
you only find me, when she is not there.

so much... till i  need to cry myself to sleep
so much... i thought my heart is going to burst
it hurts so much... it really does.
