Fall on the streets

Window
That I find
So peaceful.

As I hit my
Cigarette
The last few times
Before dying it out,
Like everything I've
Ever dreamt about,
I stop to wonder
Where my life
May go.
I could live to see the
Age of twenty-five,
But I guess time
Only knows.

Death is everywhere
It surrounds us like a cloak
And engulfs humanity more often
Than the darkness envelopes the moon
You can see it in the trees
Bare branched and broken
You can see it in the news
Another tragedy hitting the screens
You can see it in your own eyes
As you scratch at half healed scars
I don't know why people fear death,
After all, it seems to be the only thing
That makes sense in this world
From the moment we are born
We begin to die
And if that isn't poetic,
How could life ever be?

there's nothing
it is a void of space
the only reminder of life
is the breath that passes your face

there's silence
it is an echoing of tears
the memories and happiness
is the forgotten love, it sneers

there's pain
it is a drowning fate
the lost and the goodbyes
is the relationship that is too late

there's gravity...
it holds infinity here
the small speck of life
is the equation that we hear

It seems to me that
the whole love thy neighbor thing's
gone out the window

You waved your arms.
And...
I put aside my life.
