Faiz
Hey you sitting by the tree
Once in a lifetime you feel free
As gentle as the sitting butterfly
Eclipsed only by the dark moon

Just fly away into the night
Into complete oblivion get lost
Soon there will descend emptiness
Remember sweet little thing you are alone

Alone in this immense universe
Like the ocean, trees and clouds
Fear not, I am there for you
In your heart....always

Here I am again.
Up all night again.
Fueling doubts again.
Daydreaming again.

Googling answers again.
Stalking social media again.
Wishing again.
Thinking again.

Here I am again.
Thinking about him again.
About you again.
Not knowing what to do again.

Maybe I should go to sleep
Instead of laying here, counting sheep
Again.

depression is something
so many must deal with
must try to control

you don't lose control
and become depressed
you become depressed
and try not to lose control.

if you stand on that edge
of a high up cliff
to a pit of black
at a bottom you can't see

one foot dangling over
one foot planted on the cliff
one gust of wind
one little blow
can push you back over

that is depression.

holding your hand over a flame
you know it's there
you feel the burning
but you try to fight through
to pull your hand away
to stop the searing in your mind

that is depression.

swimming in the ocean
with slices of flesh
gone from your body
the salt stinging all the time
barely a head above water
a wave pulling you under
when you least expect it

that is depression.

pulling yourself back
from the cliff's edge
snatching your hand away
from the torrid flame
propelling yourself to shore
from the deluge of water

that is taking back control.

My mom told me
That things don't hurt as bad
When you close your eyes.
So when I'm awake
At 3:28am
I close my eyes,
Listen to that song,
The one that sounds
Like your heart beat,
And try to let
the pain dissolve.
Two Thursdays ago,
When I put that phone
To my ear
And it echoed through
My body
That you were better off
Without me,
I felt my soul
Intertwine with emptiness.
And I have to wonder,
Were your eyes closed when you said it,
So it wouldn't hurt as bad?

Kate Deter
If you believe you are worthless,
You are wrong.
Ask your friends and family—
Ask the ones around you.
They’ll be able to tell you
At least a little
Of how you’ve influenced them.
Maybe talking to you
Brightens their day.
Maybe they come to you
For advice.
Maybe you provide
That critical listening ear.
Maybe your smile
Puts them at ease.
Maybe you have brilliant ideas
That remind them to discard The Box.
I speak of all these Maybes,
But I leave it up to you
To find out exactly how
You’re needed
You’re wanted
You’re loved
You have worth.
Write them down.
Look at them again and again
When you’re hovering in the Void.
Maybe it won’t bring you out,
But maybe it’ll keep you
From falling further.

i should be asleep but i miss you so much that it hurts my bones

do strawberries fall in love

do you think trees fall in love and they get very sad and lonely when the tree they're with gets cut down

or like do you think a tree on one side of the world is in love with another tree on the other side of the world & even though they can't see each other, their roots are somehow connected & they just

know

i think i'm a tree

depths of me

most of the time thinking about you is a perpetual sun burn spreading down through my arms and leaking out from my fingertips

whether that is a good or bad thing, i am still yet to figure out

my love for you is endless
i tend to fear the fearless
worry is relentless
and i am
pathetic

i hear your voice whispering somewhere from the depths of me

these people here don’t understand
shoving verses and false faith down my throat
until i choke
until i die

we create our own fears
so why do we fear them?

i hear your voice whispering somewhere from the depths of me
i hear your voice whispering somewhere within the depths of me

so many things are happening
and all we do is stop
and stare
and wait
and hope for more
what arrogant pieces of **** humans are

now i am on a train
full of dead people
some sleeping
some looking out the window, thinking thoughts without points or angles or boundaries
lost souls searching for someone to sail across their hearts
(instead of just dipping their toes in and deciding for themselves that it’s too cold for a swim)

i am here to tell you
that i knew everything
i know everything

i hear your
voice
whispering somewhere

within the depths of

me

i love the moment when i put on my glasses
i can see the world in so much vivid, beautiful clarity beyond what
i can
imagine

i am afraid to move because i might cough up a novel

i hear
i hear
i hear your voice whispering
from somewhere
not yet
discovered

i am afraid to speak because what if i speak too loudly

THE AIR SMELLS SO GOOD AND THE WIND CHILL IS JUST RIGHT AND WOW YOU LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL WHILE GAZING AT THE MOON

i’m sorry i can’t hear you over the sidewalk talking
i have 6 dollars in my wallet and legs made for walking

if you can’t face reality then teeth it

it is twilight
1am birds are chirping
there is a lightning storm across the sky
awaiting the first rainfall
if these morse code messages aren’t enough to live for then i don’t know what is

i am alive
under the sun
it kisses my skin
like your lips on mine
a burn so good
something to remember

and i hear your voice whispering
old familiar tunes
humming to the beat
this poem we have created

somewhere within
the depths
of me

— The End —
