Bike engine, as raw muscle echoes plain,
baying to moon, in a questioning feign.

Hugging corners of this old byway
leaving mind, by tussle to weigh.

Roaring on this lonely odyssey,
journey never slow and easy.

Shadows linger upon sun,
open regrets, never one.

I hand you stray scribbles to
mull over, fade to history whence.

I trouble your lips in my bliss
long recalled, our mists sentence.

I capture parts, your shadow,
while lullied by airs soft purring.

I twirl in hairs dancing song,
treasure steps joined unerring.

I drink you by shapes whole
picture a face scarves behind.

I see your wicked grin flare
before dark void to unwind.

I recall, so hold part of you,
memories treasured by two.

I wait responses as come
leash seizes my mirth true.

Wave underneath prone, my slave ebon break,
hands swirl, fumbling, here body mine to wake.
Her bones, sandstone eddies etching my tune,
sculpture I desire, bones joined in sighs moon.

Currents whip, waters jaunt among her surges,
red blush marks to torso, as whimper emerges.
Silky cadence, ropes owned are strung sound
net open on shoals, scales arch gulls crowned.

Foam writhing on crest, fingers surges engage
in touches trance, curl as shells open on page.
As white clouds and mists cross over her eyes
breakers are slamming to her trembling thighs.

Waves buffet
flesh.

Silently,
buzzsaws hum,
sanding.

Grinding
my shadow,
currents.

A black sky,
hovers,
resolves
to grey image.

My gaps,
monochrome
dunes
exposed.

Damage
gouged,
recovery
sought.

Oceans are
not placated.

A relentless
surging,
advances
by moon.

Erodes,
weakening.

Repair, as if
throwing rocks
toward
the sea,

Remain viewing a message spent
clocks are headed toward twelve,
screen shows delivered, not sent,
eight minutes into enquiry delve.

Easy trust in huge tall man grown
way from tiny as years traversed,
friends, all of whom well known
at house not by a club dispersed.

Is group we trust from his school
stayed fast together seven years,
now are separating see lives duel
interstate or join cross city peers.

And once small shadows passed
now burly men heavy see parade,
setting sight on lives soon to cast
on their own, we the parents fade.

Sky joins,
kisses the ground,
toward the West,
embers glow, burn.

A bonfire crackling
of deep orange churns.
Sits upon a kindling
of cotton candy cloud.

Burnt, the remaining
oxygen of daylight.

Escaping the flames,
sky facing frosts, cools.

Long, thin, ice floes
escape, as born in
walls of glaciers.

Frozen visions in
lilac, soft pink and
etched in violet.

Snow grey and
musk.

Horizon in a blink,
a sketch shaded,
in breaths.

Before eve
sweeps the vista
with a cloak of
stardust.

Yet more try and recall, in smokes dart
Time leaves less images it would seem
In a love held for one dear to my heart

I know I must treasure any time impart
A part of me already mourning a dream
Look inside eyes, know soon to depart

Not yet to think about time when apart
Idea I still cannot fathom in my esteem
In a love held for one dear to my heart
Look inside eyes, know soon to depart

In garden, rustles
the signature of thieves.
A yellow butterfly,
drifts as shadows ease.

Suddenly, tumult
winds encircling seize.
Shaken trees flail,
hustling now seethes.

Youngest dances
feet spraying leaves.
Say time to stop,
lip curls by degrees.

Gusts see us all
inside past eaves.
As SouWesterly,
my yard heaves.

Your pupils collided, in crescent moon
Venus and Jupiter approaching swoon
Spiral of rings extend toward the Earth
Dancing upon your laughter and mirth

Lovers sway in light of distant planets
Built solid on base made from granite
Together a joy and beauty past slight
Two becoming one that stardust night

I watch as sun reaches
day yet to appear.
Fresh rays searching
perservere
in vista this stillness.

I listen to still few birds
warble in throng.
Voices anew trailing
birdsong
lightly dusts the leaves.

As I observe a light vivid
In jewels afire.
A stars throng glinting
conspires
across greenest boughs.

I taste the greenery in
freshly cut lawn.
Life afire is stirring
morn
soon new day will wake.

Storm erupted

Another evening, peaceful at midnight
Stillness, rest, no interruption or light
People asleep, nothing to intervene
Soon turns to very different scene

A long faint shard Illuminates evening
No noise, brief white flash seething
Early morning, faint breeze stirs
The hint, noise, distant verve

Leaves faint skitter on the back patio
Sounds harbinger of a dark shadow
Light interrupts the dark frequently
A momentum gathers relentlessly

Breeze gathering in resolve, gale force
Its gusting, with a devilish resource
Trees thrown, branches thrashing
Light, noise together crashing

A vast crescendo of drums, rumbling
Bass, deeper peels, when tumbling
Booms accompanies the lightning
A sudden purple flash frightening

Bang, an enormous sudden explosion
House shaking, feel the commotion
In a violent instant felt threatened
Forceful, it's power deafened

In its angry wake is trail of damage
Houses and trees, impact savage
Electricity out, effect felt in days
Neighbourhood reacts in daze

Meanwhile the storm trails to the east
On distant houses, troubles sweep
Now to faint as rolling forwards
Huge force rumbles onwards

The noise, memory before morning
Damage counted as day dawning
A peaceful weekend interrupted
Night the violent storm erupted

Papers leafed from
tan leather seats.

Decorative ceiling
gently illuminated.

Accounting alterations
create a vast paper profit.

Above old newspapers an
illegal sign requests money.

Morning sky clear,
temperature freezing.

Alcove lined
with cardboard boxes.

Separated by
two stories of building.

By years of strata,
history and fortune.

Respective felonies only
meet in glass shadows.

Here to the ground beseech
in the mottled gaze of winter,

Spring bulbs a thread teach
by loam mature while simper.

Petals remains out of reach
crisp the sunlight by fingers,

Unfurling the vibrancy each
unseen yet on palette lingers.

Spiralling on towards speech
buds rustle as earth simmers,

Heat smiles if minerals leech
flowers their vision glimmers.

Sunlight dapples in
between trees.

Images of brightest
green, pale lemon.

Gaily illuminating
your face, your laugh.

Intensity buzzes
in our shared desire.

As bees humming
around a delicate garden.

True North
to the heat of your eyes.

Sun starts gradually
setting into the West

One enquiry left
on an ever darkening stage.

Who be, if not
two bees, to dance by stars?

Quiet but for the sneezes and feet upon wooden floor
another woken, heard noises when opening the door,
little one sleeping still in distance a faint magpies song
Sunday morning in the suburbs while resting all along.

Upon blazing skies see an aeroplane in distance score
quiet but for the sneezes and feet upon wooden floor,
Sunday morning in the suburbs while resting all along
pause in a days welcoming rays as sleepy eyes belong.

Clouds dancing in the horizon a growing tide is strong
Sunday morning in the suburbs while resting all along,
quiet but for the sneezes and feet upon wooden floor,
a moment seeking company while still a presence raw.

Sunday morning in the suburbs while resting all along.
a stirring in bedrooms now as to calls here find belong,
nothing like a day with kids when no surprises in store,
quiet but for the sneezes and feet upon wooden floor.

A broken vase, angles jagged
With sharp protrusions, fingers
Barely holding, splinters
Unglued, finely balanced

Pieces lying one on another
Holds shape together, barely
Slightest tremor, injury
It all threatens to shatter

Vessel has its supports gone
The structure has no resilience
Absent lustre or brilliance
Shards in spotlight glisten

Why not glue the vase back?
Why leave dangerous pieces?
Painful protruding edges
Waiting to shatter or crack?

Fixing glass means danger
Can create injuries and worse
Injure self, injure others
And vase can break further

So, hold collective breath
And leave the shards askew
Meanwhile, dangers rue
Resolved only upon death
Updated upon suggestions

Rolling breakers
sea of leaden clouds.
The shadow of a tree
highlighted toward horizon,
rustling of beak on fruit.

From far distant the raucous
squeal of cockatoos.
barely a breeze.
Wings beating past in still air.
Then darkness, quietude.

Tiniest shadow
of branches moving.
Frogs guttural croak.
And in nightfall captured
a veil of silence.

On stone currents an Angel left freeze
is a wooden vessel her guilt plies,
companion in trials is a Siamese,
toll reflecting in crossed eyes.

Floundered on rocks, vessel becalmed
wings behind wrapping up stage,
angled sprays leapt lives farmed,
men jostling into dark gauge.

Cumulus grey to brown surging green
turgid seas obscure dying calls,
wings of black shrouding scene,
bone breaking as rock mauls.

Observe beach
high tide
some distant storm.

Waves swirling rage foam
as scouring the beach
moving loose earth
depositing sand
detritus, **** and shells.

Whittling away the shore
over time exposing
weaker bones of
limestone and
cavities of once solid rock

Water cleanses, removes
the dead and feeble
swept, wider out
predators wait
and feast on the carrion

Same waves tease
but yet
to take me away.
