SHE
She knew it
But she was scared to say it loud
She knew it was love
But she couldn't do it
She knew it will ruin her
But she couldn't help it at all
She knew it was too late
But she could just hope for it
She tried fighting it
But in the darkness of night,
It wrapped her like a blanket
She loved letting herself loose
But she kept drowning
She wanted to walk away
But day or night she couldn't hide from it at all
She kept dreaming
But day dreaming was it at all

Seven Billion

We are none truly alone,
I've written of this before
I shall write of our souls
And the invisible chains, once more

We are all connected,
By these universal chains
From the beggar on the corner,
To the broker squandering gains

We are seven billion shades,
Different shades of the same hue
From me here in my mountains,
Across the earth to you

Whether you're a dancer,
Stepping to a tune
Or a night fisherman,
Gathering food, under the moon

These universal chains,
They bind us each together
That's what the universe wanted,
And so it is forever

Each time you defame,
Your fellow human across the way
You're defaming part of yourself,
So be careful what you say

This is how its been since the beginning
This is how it is until the end
Be kind to each other,
Remember we're all akin
Oh wow! Thank you my fellow poets. Thank you for reading and liking my words.<3

"Why don't you write about me?"*

I can put any insignificant thing into words, why on earth would I want to do the same thing with you?
I could give you thousands of metaphors of love but it will end with broken hearts on the sidewalk
and I could give you hundreds of synonyms of happiness but it will turn to fear of being alone soon enough

you should now by now that
my writings are not the place for things that I love.

They'll get mangled and die.

Just for today lets be quiet
Lets sit and listen to the wind
Just for today don't let me believe it
No, Not a funeral, Not again
Its too much for me to take
I cant handle it right now
I want just one day for heavens sake
But no, Get over it, Be happy, But how?
So, just for today lets be quiet
Lets sit and listen to the wind
Just today don't let me believe it
No, Not a funereal, Not again
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
He's gone now so I'm leaving
And just today
I'm just a being
So when you see my body there
Just know that
My mind ain't here
My body is home
But my mind is leaving
And just today
I'm just a being
The first stanza was written when my friends brother died at only nineteen. The second stanza I wrote the day my grandfather died, a few weeks after the boys funeral. I was numb. I couldn't speak, move, even feel. So, Instead I wrote. I would say enjoy but the feeling just doesn't fit the poem. Instead you should remember. Remember all of the people you love who have died. This poem is their memorial.

he said his favorite color was blue because
that was the color of the sky and his mothers'
wedding ring which was the only thing that
survived the fire and he keeps the ring around his
heart so that whenever he is feeling down,
he can always remember the color blue

she said her favorite color was red because she liked
to light things on fire and she was the
heartbreak girl that burned everything she
touched and you can tell that's she's coming your way
because the first thing that you think of when you see
her is red

he wanted to disappear into the ocean, because he
was calming waves of serenity and peace but
she wanted to burn bright like the star she knew she
was born to be, and she did; she was the wild card,
the indigo of the world and she burned everything
she touched, everything she loved until one day all
that was left of her heart was a pile of ashes

he said his favorite color was indigo because that
was the color of her engament ring, the one that he
had bought her the day before she burned alive and he
wears it around his chest now so that whenever
he feels like a burning red, he had her in his heart
to keep him a steady indigo

(h.l.)

She wore flowers in her hair
And anger in her eyes
Had a strong hate for her father
And thought birthdays were stupid

He memorized every notch in her spine
And made a home for himself in the gaps between her fingers
Playing dot-to-dot with her freckles,
Became his new favorite hobby

Tattoos adorned his arms
Expressing himself in ways words never could, for ink could not stutter
He smoked too many cigarettes, and gazed at her through hooded eyes
The kind that could only be found in the depths of the alleyways you avoided

She looked at him as if he had hand selected the stars,
And was responsible for the moon
Right next to her love for the Rolling Stones, he was there
Swimming through her bloodstream

He had deceived himself into believing he did not love her
For she was his Abigail Williams
And she always said,
"God damns all liars"

Black to white
In the blink of an eye
Unexpected
But you can't help wondering
Why?
I would never do that to you
I know what I am doing
You trust me don't you?
Do I?

My heart
Is a happy drunk
A little too open
A little too optimistic
It's over in the corner of the bar
Playing poker
Screaming at the top of it's lungs
I'M ALL IN
When it's never
To this day
Had a winning hand

My heart
Is a sad drunk
A little too lonely
A little too caught up in tears
It's over at the counter
Forcing the bartender to take its keys
Because it would rather not go home
Than go home alone again

My heart
Is a reckless drunk
A little too unbalanced
A little too impaired
It's over by the door
Making everyone nervous
A little too good at scaring people away
A little too far gone

Like you
A little too far gone
Turn your head
Shuffle away and pretend you don't notice
The breakdown of a heart
Too drunk on feelings
To know when to stop
