A cry assails my window
a child has a broken heart,
life is harsh and she's afraid,
mother said a harsh word
she fell down, the world
too big, too cruel
she wails,
drops her bottle,
she wails
stumps her toe,
she wails
her favorite doll ruined,
she wails,
palms bruised and scratched
she wails
and no one hesitates.

Father walks too far ahead
she teeters to stand,
her wails carried on the wind
no one picks her up,
she must learn to endure
life's obstacles,
she gains footing and
stands , bursts forward
on wobbling legs,
Father turns and smiles
waits to dust her off,
takes her hand,
and the world begins
again.
His mind is cotton poetry
On a hard delta plane,
kissing my thoughts and
helping me remember
love
Eternally toiling
Under Golden blessings,
he calls me sharecropper.
Picking his thoughts
and weaving new ideas,
I imagine life
as a dream.
When the awakening comes,
will we be with the sun,
or will it just be
Me?
Falling for an "atheist"
Slit my wrists with a white quill
Let emotionality bleed out,
through the crack in the broken windowsill
where the light
shines through
on the darkest
sans Moon night.
Unforgettable
you are
as every moment
spent together,
intense moments
summer storm,
sweet,
eyes that talk
miming hugs,
fleeting,
stop, Time,
and let Love
last a life,
sensual
tight tight
steeped in pleasure
moans, quivers,
the heart leaps.
Unforgettable
you are
nor could I
forget you
and may the day not come
nor the night
without you
desert otherwise,
far away from you,
hands that cling
to the void of nothing,
just for a while with you
nettle tears
that burn the skin
in the impotent memories,
never again with you
chanting the Unforgettable
among lines of verses
that seek
in the crevices of memory
useless reliefs.

Dear readers, the original poem is in Italian and even in my language its words and its construction sound unusual. You may imagine the great difficulty I had in translating it into English.  Please, accept my translation as an effort to overcome the barriers of the language, because literature must not have frontiers.

For some reason
there are people holding up their umbrellas

Although no drops seem to fall
they had umbrellas tall

They were too afraid to get wet
that they even covered
the warm sunshine.
rain rain go away
There is a calm
A sort of closeness
That comes after heartbreak.
With nothing else
But acceptance to cling to,
It reigns alone
Controls hope and futures.
In the lack of light
Calm resides in silence.
But one thought
brings with it the knowledge
'it will be Alright '...
Because it will.
Take this and be guided
Back to light and laughter.
To life and happiness.
