Be a great person,
don't change for others,
even if they changed themselves,
at least you still remained the same.
You shouldn't have to change, forget those who do.

Lost in a maze
don't know where I am
I look to the side
and see a friend.

They helped me through it
but then they're gone,
I had to find out where I belonged.

Brought to the streets
Thus began a fight
these two men who were in my sights.

It wasn't long before I knew,
that these men had better things to do.
Confused for sure, but now I can see,
we walk these streets to find our dreams.

So what if I'm not alone?
These men also need a home.
I break free from my own chains
to wake up and feel there pain.

A dream of feeling stuck and alone.
The emotions only continued to grow.
I had fear of self control,
to be cast out in the endless snow.

So happy to have woken up
But the real world doesn't feel quite enough
if only we could truly see,
that all people have a time of need.
I base this off a dream.
And god sent forth his most beautiful angel
in order to help me clear my head.
But I ripped her halo off and ***** her instead.

And the devil sent forth his most cunning succubus
in order to make me drop dead.
But I held her horns like handlebars when I took her to bed.

The night was young
when "we went to bed"
I couldn't stop picturing her in my head.
We'd say goodnight
yet, stay awake.
Only thinking of each others face.

I'd walk out the room
to go get a drink,
"Or maybe that's what I wanted her to think"
but, it came to my surprise
she was up as well.
Maybe this was sign
who was I to tell.

She'd look at me
as I'd look at her
when our eyes collide
I see the universe.

I moved in closer
as would she,
we gave each other a hug
but couldn't be set free.
"don't let me go..
I like how this feels"
but, then it got better when she turned the wheel.

Her lips pressed to mine
I felt something real
we moved to our beds, now knowing how we feel.

you could say it was sneaky
on what happened next,
we couldn't make a noise
but we passed the test.

She'd now sleep on my side
when the sun finally rose
and when I'd open my eyes
I could see birds out the window.

But, more importantly
she was right there
and that was when I knew
how much I really cared.

I miss that day
all of them together
but, all I see is
I gotta play this game better.

With eyes wide open
My jaw continues dropping
even behind the scenery
this girl has my heart throbbing
Stiletto heels and a push-up bra,
Hair piled high, bleached and toned and all…
That’s the way you used to shuffle around,
But you ain’t been much since your man went to town.

Who’s that a’ worrin’ bout them wrinkles and lines?
Is that the same broad who fell for all his lines?
Well, since he left you all you do is frown.
No, you ain’t done much since your man went to town.

You could’a picked a man who would’a cherished you
Once upon a time when love was fresh and new,
But you picked the one who was known all around.
Now,  you ain’t known much since your man went to town.

(Interlude)

You could’a picked a man who would’a cherished you
Once upon a time when love was fresh and new,
But you picked the one who was known all around.
Now, you ain’t been much since your man went to town.

What’cha gotta to do to make it right
Is take your piece out of your purse, it’s a Saturday night.
What’cha gotta do is shoot him down,
‘Cause you cry too much since your man went to town.

(I'm still tweaking the arrangement. It should have an upbeat Little Richard or Ray Charles rock-n-roll mid-upbeat tempo with possibly hand claps on the downbeat like a spiritual chorus... since most early rock and r&b; musicians got their starts in small black southern Baptist churches. Let me know what you think. If it *****, tell me.

Hey  you
Do you know what's ****?
A real conversation

Someone once said
Mother Earth is as much
A part of us
As we are of Her
If we aknowledge that
Each ***** that sustains
Our intelligently designed existance
Each muscle that
Promotes our dynamic lives
Each cell that celebrates
Its small yet profound task
Within us,
Comes forth from the ground
We walk upon
We will see that the person
On the other side of the Earth
Is as much a part of us
As we are of Mother Earth
When we stop thinking as individuals and start thinking as One, we can learn to fix our mistakes.
