Reflect
Lauren Mckenzie Dec 2020
Beneath my grey boots the
reflection in the ripples

Conveyed a image of a familiar
Turmoil and saddening.

With the landscape implausible
And the fate unenviable

it beckoned with its wittering wail the
empty promise of a better life.

Thank you
Lauren Mckenzie Dec 2020
I lost myself within the dark
Valves and tunnels
Of your blackening heart.
And on the day the light shall
Seep through the fibre of your being,
I will reflect upon the time
In which the darkness
Helped me grow.

Liar
Lauren Mckenzie Dec 2020
The tip of your fragile being
was blunt with hatred for life itself.
Your comical abuse wasn't anything more than a way to prove your existence
To yourself.

The problem with money
Lauren Mckenzie Dec 2020
You reminded me of gold,
Rarity over the norm,
Ancient desolation means
The people are torn.

You're eyes like ruby's,
Blood and greed.
Red is promising,
To the grave they lead

Pathos and sapphire,
Vividity of the blues
Wealth only lifts you up,
When its tieing the noose.

Deafening silence
Lauren Mckenzie Dec 2020
As the tears dry up in the heat of the night,
the scars run red with the thought of the day.
You gave the words life and then ended mine
with twisted lies and solem cries.
The silence between the words you preached
screamed the truth
Yet my ears loved the sound of your familiar tune.

Red string
Lauren Mckenzie Dec 2020
The red string rung from the tips
Of this ***** silhouette.
Knotting and suffocating
As it eliminated thoughts of
Solidute and content
With the sharpness of its thread.

Hollow
Lauren Mckenzie Dec 2020
The heart inside pumps empty promises too my mind
circulating the hollow well of my destroyer,
In hope to cling to a nerve which still sympathizes for this begotten corpse.

Rhythm
Lauren Mckenzie Dec 2020
Waves stimulate a pattern,
Just like your words mould me,
Vast and deep our love
like the ocean sea.

Moon retreats its call,
Ships upon ships they wain,
Here I lay alone,
An anchor without a chain.

Antagonist
Lauren Mckenzie Dec 2020
The mark you left on me is hollow.
Only noticeable by the vast shadow
That suffocates and restores
And pierces my skin
Like a tattoo of shame and sabotage
Visible for the next antagonist to watch.
