Red then green
then yellow
and red again

do you stop
do wait
do you go anyway

who are you
where are you
and why

the light the
threeway
stop

it's always
the crossroads

Just for a minute
Open up my soul to you
And let me soar high

Nobody would have believed
in religion if they had not been
coerced into it as children, same
goes for almost everything
but watching adults buy this
Covid yarn does make me
wonder about Santa, 911 & the
Tooth Fairy.  So what is make
believe and is a Disney denier
likely to be punished by Baloo ?

Great grandma

we never knew all five feet tall of you
the stories older cousins shared made you come alive once
more
until recently we didn't know of them
we are cousins of cousins
you were the little old lady in black in a photo album
albeit my parent's wedding album
then you emerged in photos shared that we had never seen before
someday the entire story will be told
For now we have second and third cousins because you had nine children
One of which was my grandmother
My father never spoke of you but the others are letting me know you through their memories

Dawn,
birthing the world.

Light and dark,
the color hue
- hills and plains,
trees and gardens
and roads and country roads
and old cored places
and not so old ones.

Breeze,
warmness,
cold,
shivers
and melancholy.

Just it all.
Inhaling it.
Figuring it
as a last sight,
exhaling.

I’ve got thousands of miles
of road I’ve been driving,
while searching for a home
to belong to,
a place where I can stay
when I lay my head to rest,
and I take that first dreaming breath.

The sky seems darker since then
And Jokes a little less funny.
I can only see colour
Smiling at times long since decayed.
There isn't sadness, not really.
I wish;
Just a haze, a great fog that hangs
Like leaves teasing the ground in autumn
Slowly browning and casting a shadow
Upon the cracked pavement
Long since tired of footsteps
That just chip away at me
And move on.

Soon All
Will be
Chipped
Away.

Soon All
Will be
Away.

In the cold, dark
        of January,
         I remembered
              you
        the most.
  As the chill
      snapped bones
              like branches,
     as the afternoons
   bathed themselves
in gray,
     as the birds
and the backs
      shook,
so did my lips
   around your name.
I'm so happy
     January is almost
over now.

I helped build high walls
Set up defenses as well
Blocking out the pain
It worked for a bit
