Art
Jamie Word Nov 2018
Art
some color inside the lines.

and others, outside the lines.

some are like “wait.. what, there are lines?!”
and then are those who

sit back watching all the beauty unfold.

But then the real magic happens:

They jump back in and make their mark.

Inside lines, outside lines, no lines;
knowing all of it so deeply as an expression of themselves,
and simultaneously, so not.
By releasing all grasping of their contribution,
they serve as Spirit's paintbrush,
for life and energy to express itself through.

It’s in the release that frees and makes room for possibility.

We are all artists - working from different places,
but it's happening, now and always.

So let the fact that we all are artists, be our unifier, not our art.
I'm not religious, I'm spiritual and for me that means, it comes from my soul.  No dogma or religious artifacts attached. Call it what you'd like, Spirit, Universe, Source, Ourselves, Nature, God, Goddess - to me all the same.

I AM
Jamie Word Nov 2018
do not make me a fire

I carry warmth

do not build me a home

I have a body

do not bring me flowers

I am in bloom

But, yes!

come and wade

in the rosy skirts of my fire

Come and help

me explore my home

Come and be witness

to my bloom

Its your presence and hand that strengthens my roar.
Nothing more.

But,

Fear my fire,

And your wishes of blisters be blessed

Pillage my home,

And it's your soul who suffers the conquest

And deny my bloom

... Deny my bloom?

What a precarious mission for you to presume.

Will You Let Me Love You?
Jamie Word Nov 2018
Loving you has nothing to do with me.

My heart as my captain,
my duty is to worship, support and simply witness,
You.

Clear in what I feel,
I can love you through miles of airwaves
or between bedsheets.
In silence or sound,
sensually or platonically.

If you wish, oh please do
tell me how you love to be loved,
and I’ll try to do that too.

But loving you has nothing to do with what
you do for me, who you do,
or how you treat me.
How you'll navigate your love for me
is a choice and circumstance of capacity,
that weighs on you.

Our acceptance or denial in receiving love showered,
or lack of,
is directly tied to how fiercely
we love ourselves
and stand by our creed.

So, loving you has nothing to do with me.
The decision how deeply we drink, however,
rests within the depths of our relationship to self and situational needs.
The love offered never ceases to be.
