skimming through thoughts
kindling fires
crackling;
gust
of
wind
swishing;
dancing flames
burning down to ashes
...
and then there's the smoke,
clouding up my head

haphazard gaze caught a star

alone,away

glimmering

through mists of time
IOU,
solitary,nebulous star✨

Saying goodbye
To someone you love
Is like reading the final page
Of an amazing book.

As the last chapter ends
You begin to notice
Just how beautiful
And perfect
The plot always was.

You appreciate the joy
And even the pain
As you read and thumb
Through every page.

Finally understanding
The moral of the story,
You realize you've reached
The end of this journey.

Although the last sentence
Is the most difficult to read
Another great book awaits
Once you turn the final page.

Eventually you may stumble
Upon yet another great find.
Or maybe you'll return
To the book you left behind.

You may just discover
Once all is said and done
That this particular book
Was your favorite story
All along.

Colm
Lifted up from an ocean death
You breathed into my chest a breath
And gave me fire from the sun to glow
Thunder in the ears of me
And lightning bolts to throw

Jackal
i dont think that icarus
wanted to boast
when he flew to the sun

i believe that, like most,
he chased things that burned.

even if it meant
his own wings.

because in the end
we all chase something
that we cant have

I have been awake since 3:00am
Watching Twilight
On a Nintendo Switch,
and I'm not even complaining.

Jackal
Symphonies of steel dance up and down his skin
leaving trails of crimson behind them

he digs a little deeper every time.

Maybe someone will hear before its too late

or maybe he can just let go.
The famous are remembered
The ordinary are forgotten

Fame is quite puzzling
Sometimes free; Sometimes boughten

Ordinary Mary
In Uppsala Cathedral

Ordinary scary
Narrow as the eye of a needle

I remember my mother
My uncle and my aunt

Some can just move on.
But I am one who can't.
