 Feb 2019 Over-Complicated
sarah
late at night, i lie awake
thinking of things i should have said
all the mistakes i've made
and signs i should've read

then think about what i can't live without
you, front and center in my mind
sometimes it feels like halfway love
almost, but not quite

still, parts of you make me whole
who i am and who i need to be
i think of love letters that weren't torn up
feelings of blue and green

when i'm without you
blank page, artless innocence
i realize how dependent i've grown to you
and feel the need to create a distance

sometimes i look up at the purple sky
and wonder if you're looking too
i gaze at the colors and the beauty of it all
though its beauty would never compare to you
I feel you in my bones,
Like leukemia.

You saw my innocence and said,
I like that,

Make a wish.

Loser
My blood runs down the warm steel strings.
My fingers ache.
The noise stops.
My pathetic attempt to cope by writing a song about you has failed.
I’m drinking
Sinking
Into stinking
Slinking

My road to recovery
Must be denied stubbornly
When those governing
Are sending me to Coventry

They have a general notion
Against the genuine emotion
Not included in the ocean
Of their potions

The brand of light
Of the examined life
In this land of strife
Is banned by night

I feel I’m about to fall
Without the alcohol
That mounts a wall
To discount the small

The barricade
The sheriff made
Shares the blame
For this scary game

Smoking *** is illegal
Unlike being evil
So horrible people
Can treat me unequal

The liquor stores
Have quicker doors
Than sniffer scores
So the picker pours

I start drinking
Without blinking
And all I’m thinking
Is of someone winking

Spending my life at the bar
Makes me put up my guard
After a lifetime of scars
I live life on Mars

I become part of the darkness
Floating in space
Becoming friends with the heartless
Love is erased

My friends never die
They just fade away
While I lie
In the gray

Ostracized
From the wise
I cough and cry
Sick inside

I’m all alone
Turned to stone
In the zone
Of their cones

With no hope
I drink to cope
On my downward *****
Holding a noose for rope

I’m killing myself
By filling myself
With a million welts
Will someone please help?

I distance myself from me
away I move a million miles
beyond the homicidal floor of self
and its narrow dead sticky
fly paper walls

away from chatter castrati
and miraculous mirrors
away from vanity and horror
and the voices of shadow

I distance myself from me
I step from lunary worlds and big blue marble

and I have only
myself
a river of breaths
like transparent shaped hands
dominion of air
in a cage of bones
all petty fetters

the seduction of eternity

ice house Shekinah
sad hag with a revolver
a carnival of skinned rats and bullets
during the blood soil days

pets left on the dark side of the moon
a deluge of morality in a palace of tears
structures of consciousness under compression

the tongue of eternity
a veiled Eros licking
blood shot distant moons
flickers a selfish dream serenade
pollen of discontent
like a pregnant superhero
dressed in a candy wrapper
treading a visionless ezoic brain

bugs; war zones of memes and genes

all matter is metaphor
near death objects
meteors of grinning spiked crowns

we are memetic plucked limbs, clawed minds
sulfurous dust
short lived bloated yolks
mice in a supermarket with tape worms
and a trade mark

we are something boiling
we are memetic plucked limbs, clawed minds
sulfurous dust
short lived bloated yolks
a holocaust in a supermarket
with tapeworms
and a trademark
we are something boiling
In the bowels of eternity
graves of meat and mud
crucifixes in a screaming
abyss

creations
rabid belly of shadows

her body a sack of tubes
open wounds
like wet braided mouths
muttering thunder tunnels

she watching Friday night frights
of a cruel image,
a man; with sledge hammer genitals
looking at her through a shivered mirror

desire holds her transfixed
like a blink less eye staring
at a pinned butterfly

her hunger panged tongue
locomotes side to side
in fidget spirals
brewing red lipped bubbles
like gagged
weeping cuneiform tears
imagining
an immortal portrait of lusts tribe
while downy mists of dancing worms
eat scattered apples

with love that moves destiny
disobediently grinning
like a jeering peninsula
she imagined a coil of swollen barbs
a sea of *****
rapturous arched tongues
licking ******* urethra tornados
and flooding night music
like witches whistle through cat bones
