I never realized
How easy it could be
To lose yourself-

I stopped taking time for myself,
Gave myself to others,
Piece by piece.

Every time I put the puzzle back together,
Another piece was missing.
Or perhaps stolen.

One day I will no longer exist.

*Fellow poet pointed out this was a senryu, not a haiku.  Thank-you! ;)

Half covered faces
All over the world
Only eye meets eye
I look at you
You look at me
Am I smiling
You don’t know.
Only sadness in your eyes.

Completely
Entirely
Fully
Wholly
Utterly
Absolutely
Unconditionally
Unreservedly
downright
In love with
You

Her lips are like
wet orchids, dressed in
the spring rain,
waiting to be
kissed and
caressed.

I remember
my mother telling me.
“When a relationship ends,
one always
gets left behind”
