we sit in the backseat
of his parked car
on the edge
of something close to a revelation
the night sky is hidden
something like a secret
and we are cloaked in darkness
but next to him i swear i can feel the stars
i tell him this feels like my favorite song
something i heard once and will never forget
he kisses me and my heart beats so fast
it slows down time
this is everything
and we both know it
he asks: why didn’t you tell me?
i open my eyes
and then
i’m awake
cold sweat
alone in my bed
he’s gone before i get to tell him:
i always thought you knew

Love
It's not okay,
to touch a woman without her consent.
to degrade her.
to think you own her.
to trying to posses her.
to forcing her.
to hurting her.
to break her.
to make her think she's worthless.
to try and **** herself esteem.
to wreck havoc in her heart.

**Its. not. okay
She is not a prize but that does not mean you should not prize her
Keep her heart on the mantle but light a fire beneath it to keep her warm and kind
Don’t keep her hidden like a secret she has already been bottled up her whole life
Show her off like a lottery ticket it was nothing more than luck that brought her into your life
This was not your own doing and you will do well to remember that
Give her a place to hide when the sun is too bright and the wind is too loud
But don’t treat her like a caged animal she does not belong to you
She is a canvas but you are not the artist and you do not touch her without her written consent
The right to decorate her body with your fingerprints or your kisses does not belong to you
Keep your hand outstretched to her at all times
She knows herself better than you do and she will take it when she needs it
When she cries don’t stop her and when she smiles smile with her
These are honest forms of communication so listen when she talks to you
Never yell at her she doesn’t deserve that
Don’t treat her like a child anymore her parents did enough of that
If she falls asleep first she feels safe whatever you do hold on to that
She is already scared of the ways she can hurt herself she doesn’t need to be afraid of the ways you can hurt her
And whatever you do don’t give her a reason to leave
She might think you want her to

He
He is not the guy I am looking for
But why did I find him?
He, who has eyes that says a thousand words
He, whose prose is nothing but absurd
He, who has a smile that makes everything brighter
He, who makes a not so good reader
He, who is a perfect gentleman
He, who makes an ordinary day to a best one
He, who cares so much about others
He, who turns winter into summer
He, who doesn’t want to see a girl cry
He, who is never afraid to give anything a try
He, whose heart already belongs to someone else
It doesn't really makes sense
Why do I have to meet someone as perfect as him
Only to make me feel that I can never have him
This is a goodbye poem, I guess? Hahaha
