This story is a story
I'd have to tell in person.
Where the person
should be able to listen
for a long time.
They should be patient
and not say a word
'till the end of the story.

This is a type of story
without any end.
It slowly adds a page on
day by day.
It's a story that will have no end
until the day I die.

This is a story
about me.
It's a story where
hearts are broken
and where mending occurs.

It's a story where
tears are shed.
And I'd told myself that
no more of those.
Boys are not worth crying over
even in the toughest of times.

It's a story where
the no-crying rule
has made me stronger
It's made me guard my heart
and helped me to live better.

It's a story where
I think I've moved on
but inside I know I haven't.
I leave those thoughts to
the back of my head.
But they come back to haunt me
anyways.

It's a story where
those thoughts occur
whenever the moment arrises.
I tell myself there's someone new
but my mind won't let me get over it.

It's a story where
my mind is so stubborn
and won't move on.
It's stuck back on that person
and won't let me change my mindset.

It's a story where
maybe I won't move on
because of all the time I've spent
chasing after that person.
All the energy I've spent.

It's a story where
I've just let it hang there
and it'll always hang there
'till the day I die.

what my mind approaches
what I tilt my head to
and my hands reach for—

all the beautiful things
preserved in their truth

spring in the flower,
the fall of the leaf,
the rays of summer
and white canvas winter

precious things I pause to notice

So much misery
Such less poetry
Makes it hard to live fully
Hence, I write freely
To make the cosmos glee.

We both
fell in love
with the idea
of eternity.

Unfortunately,
eternity...
Never fell for us.

Let us listen...

     Just for awhile
     let us silence our minds
     and open our hearts

     Just for awhile
     let us listen from within

Listen...

     not to gain knowledge
     not to formulate questions

     rather to chance upon
     sacred bonds and
     profound wisdom

Just for awhile
let us not seek information
or answers

Let us not rouse the intellect
but embrace the spirit

If thoughts cloud the brain
let them pass

If replies tingle on the tongue
let us breathe them away silently

Return to them later
but here...

here in this precious time of sharing

Let us listen

let the words wash over us
and seep into a still quiet pool

Let us listen.
Inspired by a circle I belong to that practices "deep listening"...in which each person, in turn, speaks their heart (about a topic chosen by the facilitator) while the others just listen...deep topics, no dialogue, no conversation, just listening to one another. It's so different from regular conversations, chit-chat and small talk which is what people usually experience.

The world needs more real listening!

Freedom from hunger and freedom from pain
freedom from loss and so freedom from gain.
Freedom to give and freedom to share
freedom from want and that of despair.

Freedom to think and freedom to know
freedom to achieve and freedom to grow.
Freedom from ******* and freedom of liberation
freedom from ignorance and any unknown situation.

Freedom to come and freedom to leave
freedom to stay and freedom to conceive.
Freedom from struggle and freedom of ease
freedom to enjoy and the capacity to please.

Freedom from failure and freedom of success
freedom from denial and freedom of access.
Freedom from illusion and freedom of reality
freedom to become what we are in actuality.

Freedom to live and freedom to die
freedom to laugh and freedom to cry.
Freedom to speak and freedom to listen
freedom to act based on a wise decision.

Freedom from hate and freedom of love
freedom of below and freedom of above.
Freedom of the past and freedom of the present
freedom of the future and what it can represent.

Freedom from war and freedom of peace
freedom to begin and freedom to cease.
Freedom from sickness and freedom of health
freedom from poverty and mishandled wealth.

Freedom from wrong and freedom being right
freedom of the day and freedom of the night.
Freedom to choose and freedom to reject
freedom to imagine what there is to expect.

Freedom from lust and freedom from greed
freedom from anger and freedom from breed.
Freedom from jealousy and freedom from pride
freedom from within and freedom from outside.
Freedom of always not having anything to hide.

Freedom from space and also freedom from time
freedom from attachment and freedom from crime
Freedom to work and freedom to play
freedom to believe and freedom to pray.
Freedom to experience a rebirth someday.

Freedom from the body and freedom from the mind
freedom  from the ego and freedom from being blind.
Freedom of transcendence being of the spiritual kind.

Universal freedom is eternal and infinite bliss
we should all therefore be able to realise this.

there are two types of sadness

there’s the kind of sadness
we ignore and
try to get rid of it
by finding new things to do
or we find someone to talk to
by blatantly avoiding any type of conversation
about feeling sad
about having any feelings at all
and then there’s that kind of sadness
that takes over
and it consumes any activity we do
we know it’s there
and there’s no possible way to avoid it
so we feed it exactly what it wants
it craves the sad music
it craves the isolation
it craves the anxiousness
and the sadness comes storming in
it has no manners
here we are calling sadness, an “it”
when all it is
is a feeling
that most people
call home

I am a poet,
or I like to call myself one.
My heartaches and heartbreaks give life to empty pages;
I rarely compose from glorious days.
I’m inspired by the world, by people around me
but mostly by my pain.
I consider myself an introvert
for you will rarely hear me speak,
but on the other hand, I have much to say
just not with my lips
but with a pen.
I hide behind ink and paper
ready to write my feelings away.

I am the poetry that I write.

All this time,
I believed I got it.
I believed I got better.
I am stronger and smarter.

But when I looked at myself,
it weakens my knees that everything inside my head scribbles.
There is a way out of this maze.

I turn into poetry, a clairvoyant
who can only define why I have to get out before the clock strikes twelve, and it takes hard work to get out
I needed to plan. It is possible.
Poetry guaranteed that all I needed to do is to use my senses
to put the pieces back together and find this one way out.
