We are South Africans
We live in a real live circus

The Clowns run around acting serious
just one look at them walking proud
and the World laughs out loud

The Chimpanzees run amok
Their handlers ail of Culture shock

Chasing Trapeze artists round the ring
Men on stilts are finally suffering

The Lions have sold their claws and roars
For a few extra child subsidy encores

The Tigers crouch in fearful shame
The latest casualties in the Blame Game

And the crowd just stares on dazzled
   As everything fails, likely embezzled...
A little too vivid
Apologies if I offend...
Tightly
I embraced you
As tightly as the sky embraces the sun
But
You slipped away
And disappeared
Just as the sun slips out of the sky's embrace
And disappears beyond the horizon
But
You left me with something
A feeling
Of nothingness
Just as the sun leaves a darkness within the sky
But
Within my nothingness
Are memories
They are bright and full of warmth
Just as within the sky's nothingness
There are stars
But
Memories aren't enough
I need you
To make my world brighter
Just as the stars aren't bright enough
And the sun is needed to brighten our world
I need you
The space between YOU and I tore my heart apart.
The sound of the rip deafened my ears.
The blood gushing out blinded me,
and the sharp pain attacking my soul left me paralyzed.
All because of the space between YOU and I.

Three years later I healed.
I could hear again,
I could see again,
and the pain in my chest,
the one caused by the ripping of my heart,
sealed shut with tape and chains with locks around it.
Until a key is found, never to be opened again.

Today, I'm here,
standing, not worried,
with the key unlocking locks carefully.
I found it.
No I found him.
No we found each other and today is the day we promise to be forever.
Thanks to the space between YOU and **I
This poem is based on a character I wrote in one of my books. It shows that of all the heartbreaks you get out there. One major heart break can lead you to find forever happiness.
Our decisions are like DNA
they tells us to run or stay

The hard times is what defines us
The weakness in us wants to take the easy way

So when times are easy people are all alike
Living life the usual taking it one step at a time

Weakness is among the strongest of us
The only difference is we don't switch decisions on a dime

We take our decisions and run with them
We understand we make mistakes like everyone

We are told that our flaws are less than desirable
That we should hide from everything we have done

Our flaws given the chance act as anchors
They can either drag us down or give us grounding

Embracing our flaws and improving upon them
We are strong and gain much from that understanding
I like my poetry
Like I like my coffee
Unlike most,
I prefer it strong
And heavy

I don’t mind it rushed,
What I really want it to empower
Is the sweet bitterness
That’ll keep me up for hours

How’re you to live
Without a little contemplation
A bitter drink
To match how you think
About the world and its desperation

Its desire to acquire
A meaning higher than is truthful
Since the only rectifier
For all of the gunfire
Is that we remain faithful…

“Faithful”

Faithful to shadows
That we hope to be
More than more than just a domino
From long ago
Toppling into tomorrow

But even so
Truly, we know
We cannot hope to be
More than the smallest
Ripple in the sea

There’s nothing more than what we see
Despite what we wish would be
There for us now and when we
Leave this place

In all of space
We’re merely dust
Upon dust
No conceited reason
Behind every season

No, that’s just the world’s childish desperation
To see more behind each rotation
Of God’s “divine” creation

Since, truly, there can be no rectifier
For all of the gunfire
And despite how I think I may desire
This blessed ignorance of faithfulness
What I value more is truthfulness

And what it’s telling me
(Thanks somewhat, perhaps, to the coffee)
Is that our best intentions
Will not result in intervention
But in blind destruction
Thanks to humanity’s corruption.

…A bitter drink
To match how I think
About the world and its desperation.
the feel of stepping on ants in-considering
it feels good, to go about our way
numb and inconsiderate

squeals of pigs cut their running
around after with a purple sack
makes for good pork chops

the chicken head on the ground
while its owner runs around a minute
makes yum good

a hook in the mouth momma
bass fighting for her life
it's all mystical

the calf's neck cut blood squirting out
makes veal; the lamb squealing
a nice cutlet

It is hard to be vegan with
all this ****** need in
me, hard to understand

how nature is mean,
how ISIS or Al Qaeda
sees any difference

I might , now that I think
of it all , visited a slaughter
house, saw all the

blood; thought of people
treated like animals,
from now on,

just starve myself
