As the days light fades
I dream of happy endings
While closing the blinds
Haiku
He slept under an oath tree
And dreamt of his girlfriend,
She came running towards him
With hands open wide,
While he mumbled her name,
“Jessica!” “Jessica, my love!”
And stretched his hands
While tears of joy filled his tired eyes.

He was woken up
By the fierce sound of mortar
Just a few yards from where he lay
And struggled to open his heavy eyelids
Hoping to see Jessica, she alone
But could only see silhouettes of bare trees
Against the flames of destruction

The night turned to day
And days to nights
As injured lone soldier
John continued whispering
His beloved Jessica’s name
Under that oak tree

I light my cigar, from whence comes the nicotine
That blackens my lungs and poisons my blood
But the taste of it becomes a sensational feeling,
A satisfaction to my nicotine enslaved wind-pipe
A huge urge to take it again and again
One after another
An addiction that enslaves me.

I light my cigar, from whence comes the nicotine
That keeps me company all day and night long
An enemy   I cherish and revere
That shortens my days and nights in disguise
One after another
An addiction that takes away my own life.

It’s another beautiful evening
Quiet and peaceful
Except for the sound of my footsteps
On the coarse white sandy beach
Of clear turquoise sea
As I retrace our love path
Hoping to find your footsteps fossilised
On the sand.

But the truth hurts the most
That the waves have washed away
All your footsteps I am here to find
And the wind has blown away
All your romantic scent
That used to permeate the air
All have vanished into thin air,

It’s just another beautiful day to start all over;
To start a new memory that will linger forever*.

Blinking Nose
I had to let go of your memories
As I did with San Fransisco
With its innocent corners and places
The quaint stores and my shadow

"Does it snow in San Fransisco?"
My little nephew asked
"Not always, but it did long ago"
And my eyes filled with remnants of the past

It hasn't gotten easier, years have gone by
I still remember the golden gate
The sunsets and the pleasant sky
I need you still and in vain I wait
For you to stop by
And steady my pettish state

Archita
Sunday morning, pit-pit patter on my window panes
hot beverage, blurred vision
old gramophone playing in the next room.
Oh, how she loves music!

40 years of marriage, her hair still smell like fresh jasmine
broken glasses, shallow pockets.
Her radiant smile, wet hair
I sniff the jasmine in the air around.

Love marriage, college affair
Love letters, and library meetings.
old days, fresh memories.
She peers out from behind the door.

Her wrinkled skin, mine too.
Her lips part as she hums along to
old gramophone playing in the next room.
Oh, how she loves music!

Forever

There was this one time

you came to my house,

and I accidentally fell asleep,

and I remember you

putting a blanket on top of me

and kissing my forehead

and I remember

in that one moment,

I knew.

You are my forever,

and I mean that in the way

that not only are you my sunshine,

but also the warm feeling in my heart.

You are every kiss that's been

on my unworthy lips,

you are the subject of

every pang of longing

that I have ever felt.

You are my nicotine, my line,

my whiskey, my fix.

You are every moan at 2am,

all of my fantasies and none of my nightmares.

You wrap bandages

Around my broken bones

and my shattered soul.

You are my ever-lasting muse,

you are my one and only.

You are my favorite and my everything,

But "forever" doesn't seem to be enough.
Inspired by this one tumblr post, I'll do some digging to find the original url.

So I guess
I found you by accident
and forgot you
on purpose
and that's about it then. Toodles.
