Anne Scintilla Mar 2021
under the weight of the universe,
a breath becomes a miracle
against the law of nature, the pervasive
cling of gravity on everything it touches.

every bit of me is against
the pull of the earth. my ribs heave.
it satiates the hunger of my lungs
for space, for its place.

when I tire, and succumb to the force
demonstrate that in my most serene
- supine and asleep, I fought to live,
for every breath is a miracle.
i haven't written in a year. it seems as if the pandemic drained me so much more than i thought it could.

may we find rest during these trying times.

Parker Vance Feb 2021
Birds of a feather flock together in the sultry atmosphere, whirring in and out of crepuscular clouds as if it were nothing special. feathers more like needles blacked under the godless face of the wind. The cliff's voice clings to their sun-smeared backs, reminds them of his own position on an empty, red planet and they sing back that gravity lament. The sky goes on about the lovely morning air and sunlight marches when all birds want is a place to lie down from that brittle flight, to rest their hollow bones filled with a lost longing.
I wonder what it would be like for birds under a red sun.
Falling as the stars fall,
Tethered to you.
We felt the forces of gravity and friction all too soon.
You and I,
We were walking on the moon.
Not even gravity could bring us down.

Not a care in the world,
It was just us two.
Crash landing,
Home bound
Was the last of what we wanted to do.
False claims and exploding stars.
A thousand years late from where we are.
I've been searching for the center of my universe too,
And
As I get closer,
I gravitate towards you.

Despite the try

Not so long
The thoughts in the mind
You held
Captive
May somehow
Gravitate
Through the eyes
Without any word

Over the time

A Jan 2021
I don't know when it happened but it just started getting heavier

Getting up
     it could take days
Going back to sleep
     it could take years
Putting away my phone
    it could take forever

And do you also think gravity is getting on me? Doing its best to make
                      everything
                 so
        ****
heavy

As if I should be punished for wanting to stay up in the clouds
                everywhere I go
                                         everything I do

As if I should not get any release
As if I should have learned that I must not escape to pink skies and air
As if I should have gotten used to loving grey ceilings, asphalt and wind just as much

As if there wasn't anything else to long for
As if this should be it
As if this actually is it.

Along the way I see you, even if you don't see yourself, I see the light that shines beyond the silhouette. Once again putting you into focus, closer, in to view. I will woke up with you in my mind.
You are the story.
Then after.

You worth it.
