the inherent beauty of the mob
is in the fluidity of their anger
it is the colors of burning buildings
the music of guttural chants
the freedom granted by inevitable destruction
and the finality
of their judgment
it is in the perfection of collective enmity
and the clamant rectification of flaws perceived
so that in the end
all that remains
is the disarrayed corpse of the mob
and the excrement of it’s existence
not as a force of humanity
but as a mechanism
of wanton ferality

I am not made of miracles or borrowed prayers.
There is no magic in my bones or mysticism to my name.
I am made of sweat,
Of salt stains on flushed cheeks.
I am made of blood smears
And too much hand lotion.
I am made of toil and trouble,
Of mistakes and rectification.
I am composed of ink and paper,
Of ill-remembered idioms and words I've absorbed from books.
My existence is fueled by a certain brand of sock,
A teddy bear given to me at birth,
And a desire to prove that I was more than what they told me
That I could be greater than what I thought of myself.
I am made of laughter and twisted humor,
Of Murphy's law and learning to conserve energy and care.
I am made of misbehaved neurotransmitters and wild thoughts.
I have a love of the night sky and swimming in cool waters.
My soul steeped in the desire to frolic and eat sweets.
I wear scars that prove I have suffered and earn me judgement,
But I have survived a world and brain designed to be my unbecoming
Not because I'm made of miracle or magic or prayers.
I survived because I'm made of attitude, resolve, resilience,
And a thirst to prove that I can.
Most importantly,
There always seems to be a flicker of something that promises me
That even in my worst moment, I should continue to live.

There was once,
a friendship bound in four,
entwined with trust,
fueled with love,
compiled with ceaseless chatter.
Once broken,
Each bond shattered
beyond the point of rectification,
There could be no going back.
And yet, at one point
or another,
they each pined
for their remnants of youth.
Reunited only once,
A friendship loosely tied,
Stilted -
Ceaseless silences,
Entangled in doubt;
tainted with judgment,
Refracting the similarities of a friendship,
once bound in four.

A verse to celebrate International Woman's Day.
I, Woman
consider myself rightly the female guardian
of humanity's decency,
the feminine mountain of care and example
of ageless achievement.
A win or lose mirror who separates dreamers
from willing doers
I have grown from challenging problems ready
to shape my future
and with endurance I look on any unassailable
course as already won.
I am Woman,
the force who owes all to her own existence,
the Self who, travelling towards
light of revelation discovers genuine courage
inside female gender.
I stand alone yet am happy to choose things
which I do with faith
in authenticity, facing consequence bravely.
An icon of tenderness,
an I who fosters respect but whose eye when
catching need feels tender compassion.
She who mother's man and leaps to defend
male maladjustment
when attacked by makers of trouble or a he
who allows doubt to undermine.
Inveterate my conscience treating all as free,
yet I know there is never a come or go,
not a yes or no,
nor a birth or death
with any whisper of weight ....... without Me.
I dare to make my own mistakes and have the
strength to forgive,
empowering thereafter some rectification.
But better look out, as when tested
I, Woman,
am impregnable.

Body bagged sleep disorder
Picked up in a house out west
Lived out through a tape recorder
Moving on at the owner’s request
Dream deprived in a timely pit
Progeny separated at the request of the kids
Knife turned friend in the heat of a fit
Rectification sold to the first one who bids
Delusions through insomnia of potential bliss
Fractured into reality on a nightly affair
Putting too much worth behind more than a kiss
Cleaned up afterglow with a bit of Nair

rectifying desires of ill-perceived intentions
because what the mind thinks it wants
is deception of pleasure
candy-coated poison
helping the vitriolic hard-pills-to-swallow go down
greens transform to intermittent reds
reflective plashes amplify a glossy atmosphere
as steamy plumes smudge colors
like the tears in my eyes
flares from passing lamplight:
an inconstant reminder bright spots of life
are just as transient and the darkest portions
losing myself between spaces separating drops on the windshield
my brain reverts to cruise-control
perhaps trapped between dreary thoughts
or weary from overexertion
hate what you are; hate what's becoming
harden your heart, grow up
there's an enveloping comfort of the dark
a cool relief from
life's limelight on total depravity
with my eyes closed, I can't see any of it
with cacophonic beats, I can't hear my thoughts
an addiction to instances untouched by time

What is love?
Love causes hate. Love ignites us to discriminate between dream and real. Make us feel like we ain’t worth **** Throw a fit. Get lit.
Love is resentful. Eventful. You fight only to make up but live through threat of break-up. You fight for love and love to fight. It helps everything feel right. Is that love? Don’t ask me. I can’t judge you and your story. But I can dream and I can feel.
What is love?
I ask, what isnt? Is it just me? Can it be, that my family is marching towards eternity while I evade and fade into the distance? Did I miss it? Am I uplifted?
My mind wanders while my head ponders and the thought never leaves.
You asked what is love? I said, what isn’t? It’s a tree in the distance. It’s a wedding ring on clearance. It’s big. It’s small; makes us fall head over heels. Makes us feel what’s real. Makes you think a different way. Makes you stay who you are. Not far from love but far from fear. What is love, my dear? Love is shared. Love is felt deeply, though the path treads steeply.
No rectification is beyond justification. If you feel exuberation, manipulation is beyond contemplation.

You asked What is love? I told you what isn’t. Though underneath you, you never knew. The feelings felt were unexplainably true.
