Can a thought or feeling be larger than a universe? Love is the only trait that is worth remembering because it is meant to be given away selflessly. The recipient is as happy to receive it as you were to give it! To my friends those of you whom I hold dear If you'd like to be added to this years Canon message me. I will do my best to add you to this poem.

God Exists

The world has a funny way of reminding us,

God exists.

Sometimes I forget,
the freedoms I have as an American,
and I take these freedoms,
for granted,

but then,
the World reminds me,
and I remember,
that God exists.

God exists,

I see His Light’s reflection,
in almost everyone,
from the lowest slave,
to the highest pharaoh,

God exists.

For example,

I was on the train,
to Luxor from Cairo,
Aaron Lux headed to Luxor,
it only makes sense,

on the train I met an Egyptian man,
and I took this as divine intervention because I don’t believe in coincidences,
he worked/works for the United Nations,
as an assistant for economic development,

his English was perfect,
better than most Americans I know,
and we talked on that train ride,
to Luxor from Cairo,

once we arrived in Luxor,
we both parted ways,
but we made a plan,
to meet up the next day,

and we did and we went,
to dinner I brought a random Japanese girl,
we ate camel on a rooftop,
overlooking the Luxor Temple,

in the distance,

the lights of The Valley of The Kings,
reflected on caves of tombs such as King Tut’s you know what,
sometimes seeing death reminds me of being life,
and being life reminds me that God exists omnipresent in all things.

God exists.

We talked,
on that rooftop overlooking Luxor Temple,
we talked about philosophy and religion and politics,
and also about some new stuff,

such as the Arab Spring,
and each other’s family,
I told hime I was trying to reunite my parents in Thailand,
because of them together in this lifetime I have not a single memory,

and I’d like to see my parents together at least once,
before one of us three dies,
because you don’t get a second chance,
to live this single life,

I,

asked him about his parents,
he said his father had just been abducted,
by the Egyptian Secret Police,
see that’s what you call Boy Interrupted,

but this isn’t a cinema,
this a real life drama,
and I saw this young man of maybe 22 years old,
had had to grow up so quickly because of such adult sized problems,

he said he didn’t know where his father was,
he said the police had taken him just a week ago,
because his father was on the wrong side of democracy,
I guess that’s just how it goes,

see his father was part of The Muslim Brotherhood,
and had supported the Arab Spring,
which in turn had supported President Morsi,
who was elected democratically,

but old habits die hard,
and the Egyptians know that better than anybody,
not much has changed there’s still pharaohs and slaves,
this country is still ran by an aggressive military,

he doesn’t even know where his father is,
or if he’s even dead or alive,
but hopefully he doesn’t end up like Giulio Regeni,
found in a ditch with an X carved in his forehead and gouged eyes,

I,

realize,
then that I know nothing about “struggle”,
I realize then that the 1st world has nothing to complain about,
it is in that moment that reality popped my ignorant idealistical bubble,

I know nothing about trouble,
I come from a country where people complain about everything,
we get upset because a traffic light takes to long or a waiter screws up our order,
we feel depressed about nothing but we know nothing about real struggle or pain,

I will never again complain,
about being an American,
I mean my God this kid had his father abducted,
and he might never see him again,

God blessed it feels so good to be from a country with real freedoms God Bless America,

and I’m saddened and grateful at the same time,
I’m saddened because no kid should have his father taken,
I’m grateful because I was born in America so I’m entitled to amazing freedoms,
and I believe in the American Dream still wide awake in a country that feels Forsaken,

but there's no Sutherland,
in the original Empirical Motherland,
just brutal reminders resurrected like Jesus on Easter,
or King Tut's curse from Luxor's sands,

I am,
blessed to have freedoms and others don’t have,
simply because I was born as an American,
and I thank God for that fortuitous fact,

The world has a funny way of reminding us,

God exists.

sometimes I forget,
the freedoms I have as an American,

but then,
the World reminds me,

Truth.
Babygirl Oct 2014
"So, there is this guy," the famous last words, before indefinite heartbreak.
She knew she should't fall so hard, not just for his, but her sake.
But it was to late, she was head over heels for him, and he was falling more & more.
She was like a ship on the ocean and she was way to far from shore.
She was losing her grip on reality, and falling into this love drunk state of mind.
All the bad things were gone and all the feelings were kind.

They are so different yet one in the same.
They will be that couple where everyone knows their name.
Famous Last Words, I am in love with you.
No way to say it without fear of what the other will say or do.
But she whispered it as her walls began to crumble down before her eyes.
Now she has someone to listen and hold her as she cries.

He listens and makes her happy when no one else can.
She is his biggest fan.
He makes her laugh when all she wants to do is cry.
She has let those Famous Last Words out of her mouth and she feels like she can fly.
The pain and the heartache is almost gone, but there is still a little piece sayin, "No."
But it's to late her heart and her mind are in different places, and she wants to go.

She was once so lost and broken, then her angel came and he showed her hope.
Now when she is going though something he is there to help her cope.
There is a reason they are called Famous Last Words, they are the ones that stay..
Those words can make or break anyone's day.
She has whispered them as she held out a shattered heart for hime to love.
He has given his Famous Last Words and his heart fits with hers like a glove.
I board up the windows and I lock the doors,
I build wall after wall all in protection of my little heart shaped home,
It does not need anymore intruders,
My little heart shaped home does not need anyone to see it at it's worst,
My little heart shaped hime will try to stand alone,
it doesn't want to be broken,
It doesn't want to be bothered,
nor does it even want to be loved,
All it wants is to guard itself so that it stays safe and worth value,
So it is not harmed,
Not cracked or broken,
Not hurt or ignored it just wants to be slightly invisible.
So Please Leave My Little Heart Shaped Home Alone.

I reach out and extend my hand
You take me on an expidition of my mind
But warn me of the demons I may find
Like a dream cast out into the day
We all dance around as we beguine to laugh and play
Avoid the ellaphant in the corner of the room
If you look hime in the eye he'll send us all to doom

Turn on all the party lights
You know this is the way we make it through the nights
Trapped beneath its entrancing ways
I wouldn't want a thing to break my gaze
Because in a way we've all got something we're running from
We've all got something we're yerning to become

As the ball dropped and the lights went out
I became lost so I started to fill with doubt
With a compass of morals and no marks on the map
How would I know where to even start
I beguine to feel myself tear apart

A void with the gravity of 1,000 burnt out sund
The black hole pulls me in on a chain
Maybe too late I've already missed my my train
It is not the words but the ones we do not speak
They are armed to the teeth like a gun
Turn on all the party lights
You know this is the way we make it through the nights
Trapped beneath its entrancing ways
I wouldn't want a thing to break my gaze
Because in a way we've all got something we're running from
We've all got something we're yerning to become

I feel a numbness bleed down my arm
Gripped in my hand was my hunting knife
Dizzy and delirious I was fearing for my life
The blanket draped over my head while laying in my bed
I was left wandering if I was dead
As the coroner looked into my eyes
I felt as my soul started to rise

Out of my body out of my mind
I shot off and left this whole world behind
My whole entire life flashed before my eyes
Apocalyptic epiphany to bring me to realize
I must start moving to move on
Before I could ever find my call
I was forced to face losing it all

Turn on all the party lights
You know this is the way we make it through the nights
Trapped beneath its entrancing ways
I wouldn't want a thing to break my gaze
Because in a way we've all got something we're running from
We've all got something we're yerning to become

After the light went out
I found my whole life turned upside down
I could not help but to beguine to frown
A duplicity of yen and yang happily depressed
The reality I have never confessed

Hoping that one day I can turn life around
So that I might beguine to smile
Or at least be properly expressed
I know exactly what I must do

Turn on all the party lights
You know this is the way we make it through the nights
Trapped beneath its entrancing ways
I wouldn't want a thing to break my gaze
Because in a way we've all got something we're running from
We've all got something we're yerning to become

Resurrected I come back to life
Covered with a chill dripping in cold sweat
The things I've seen I could never forget
Coming back down into a new year
I feel as though everything becomes clear

I have been here grom the beginning
I'll be here untill the very end
You are the one who holds the key
This is something I'll always see
I love you and watched as we both grow
It is killing me not to know

What a long strange trip it has been
I'll never regreat when it all came to beguine
This is the choice I made
To hoping we never fade
Will correct spelling later (posted on my phone)
Her skin has yet to get used to the burn
so she tries her best to pretend it doesn’t hurt
She stopped asking
                about her husband
         long ago
and the screams of agony still haunt her
She whispers alone at night
“I love him, I love hime, I love him”
but she knows it isn’t true
she remembers the circumstances of their union
and tells herself that lying is a sin
so maybe she’ll feel his touch again
and maybe he’ll even leave scars from the burn
something to remember him by
but he’ll be gone before she’ll see him
She can’t even remember what he looks like
but she tells herself she can
“I love him, I love him, I love him”
but she can only love a man

A lovely Creature
They are like our miniature
The day that they are born
Its like a new color in our room
They are our treasure ones
So their husbands and wives will treasure them
When that day comes
And the day when they become dads and moms.
This carbon copy of mine
Was my prince and hime
They are my bell when I come home
Gladly waiting till I got home
A noise in my house
A kids that like a mice
A dirt of popcorns and ketchup on my floor
And a loud knock at my door
Their hands was soft as mine
As i cry when i saw them on the baby's line
They are sleeping soundly
As they hold unto me so clingy
