Pauline Morris
Alone again, on the same furrowed land
Knees trembling to much to stand
I find my feet firmly planted in quicksand

I'm sinking yet AGAIN
There is no need to pretend
My situation is to much to comprehend

I'm tired of all the abuse
Forced into being a lonely recluse
I once again raise my flag of truce

This suffering is way to much to bear
So I let go, raise my hands into the air
To an uncaring entity, I offer my last prayer

I hear the last toll of the bell
As the tears in my eyes swell
Sinking into my own personal hell

I watch my life slowly dissipate
I listen to the last beat beneath my breastplate
I could no longer carry the weight

*Tell me what you’re thinking,
what you would like to read
Any thought that’s on your mind
you'd like my pen to bleed

I’ll write about the sunset,
an ocean by the shore
Or even write you one about
the band aid in my drawer

A poem of a flower
or a fashion magazine
A cat who rips your curtains
and the color tangerine

I’ll write about a lover,
the one who broke your heart
Or pen a little ditty bout
a car that wouldn’t start

I’ll write about the mountains,
a slowly flowing stream
A nightmare that your sister had
while you enjoyed a dream

I’ll write about a comet,
perhaps a shooting star
Something that is very near
or some place that is far

I’ll write about October
and write December too
Halloween or Christmas Eve
either one will do

I’ll write about a forest
that has so many trees
Or a tiny butterfly
just floating on the breeze

A poem on the weather
as rain falls from the skies
A perfect sunny morning
when you open up your eyes

I’ll spill some ink on darkness
as black as it can be
A monster swimming in the deep
beneath an angry sea

I’ll write about affection
those desires that you feel
Twilight with the one you love
and everything that’s real

A stanza of a bluebird,
so precious on the wing
Or even write a poem bout
a giant ball of string

Tell me what you’d like to read
and in a little while
I’ll write for you a poem
with the hopes to make you smile

So now I’ll sit here waiting
for what you might suggest
For you deserve a poem
because you are the very best
Ease
Bubbles
Up when I
Lighten my heart.
Lines written with ease
Impress my own heart and
Every pure thought oozes like
Nectar, which slowly transforms to
Candid Muse..oh, what an ebullience!
Ease bubbles up when I lighten my heart.

From puppyhood's hour I have not peed,
As others sniffed, I have not gleaned,
As others pawed, I could not seem,
To bark along with the canine teams.
From the hydrants red and wet with drizzle,
I have ne'er to leave  my yellow stream,
For my bladder had all fizzled,
Clogged with endless hordes of fleas.
Then- at the vet's, one gloomy dawn,
A very strange device was drawn,
And poked and prodded where I ill,
Then I was forced to take a pill.
Then from  the torrent of this river,
My shaggy fur began to quiver,
Upon my haunches did indeed I rose,
Feeling wetly coldness on my nose,
Then the raging yellow stream,
At last dislodged itself of fleas,
And to my great and sweet relief,
They lay a bone befor my feet.

Alone

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then- in my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life- was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.

Al
sometimes i cover my ears
even when there’s no sound.
it blocks out the noise,
it blocks out the crowd.
it blocks out the voices
that are getting too loud.
it blocks out the crying
but my fingers are cold;
i’m drowning inside,
it’s too much, i’m strangled.
//i don't want to listen but i'm screaming inside, choking on the words that i'll never say

Memo
a hazed stare holds my soul
a radiant smile laces her soft cheeks
long golden feathers sway,
blurring my vision

seeds nourished our reason
our wings fluttered
for once, again i could fly
up high, i held her as much as i could
all so vivid then
fragmented memories lapse my mind
like dreams, some black and others white
cherished, the way they are
genuine, unbidden, & real

i wake up alone in my bed, yet i smile
for another dream to begin.
