Your smile is fake
but no one knows
Your pain does not

You laugh too much
they judge you for it
But they don't see  
your pain
You're good at faking
you have been for

some things no one else
has been through
Which makes it hard to smile
Faking is the way to go
So no one will ever know

what does it feel like to be held
not by another body
not by a set of limbs, a chest, a chin
but
by another soul

what does it feel like
to see truth in another pair of eyes
instead of hidden intentions
instead of absence

what does it feel like
to hear a familiar heartbeat
resounding next to your own
reaching through skin
through bone
two rhythms
indistinguishable

what does it feel like
to write poems about
a love that exists

One way to another
I’ll find out
I never lied to you
I never hide no secrets to now
Do I feel sorry
Nope I don’t
Everyone of us
Will lose someone
Maybe stuff that she did
Finally catching up with
Her
She’s no Angel

growth
is a process
much like the sunflower
we are not simply born
a bright bursting flower
of enlightenment
we are crafted
into beautiful stardust beings
through pain
suffering
and the lessons
we are meant to endure
and learn from
we are reborn
into stronger
conscious beings
filled with light
bursting with love
exploding
into higher consciousness
