I dislike returning to this hellish place
From first step inside I sense my pulse race
I start for one second to turn around
Love and concern have my presence bound
Everything in building looms like my worst nightmare
Instead I try to focus on the one for which I care
Like puzzle I ponder pieces of the past
If I did things different would your breath have ended as fast?
My whole life was spared by the reapers dark dose
Heard whisper call but it never came too close
Water came surging suddenly in sinking your soul to sleep
Would have swam to rescue you but the sea was already too deep
About being back in the same hospital my mom died in...

Reminiscent of the way your voice resonated in my ears as you sang to yourself softly.

You caressed my neck with a gentle strength,
and the compounds of time dissolved as the moment took control over us both.

In that moment, I was yours.
Not quite strangers, but not yet lovers,
just two longing humans in each others embrace.

Bound to you by the frequencies which emanated through each one of your fingertips,
surging into my body,
next into my psyche,
and finally then— my soul.
In only minutes, surging wind brought rain, then pounding hail into this verdant canyon. The mountain disappeared into the mist, and in its place the full arc of a brightening rainbow. Almost as quickly, the mountain's face reappeared, while more rain poured down, now through brilliant sunlight. The rainbow remains, plunging its feet into the very roots of the valley.
