Dawn of Lighten Sep 2016
Glistening eyes among the stars,
Hidden in the pupil all those scars.

Not a word in their coming end,
Stand by them like a friend.

Numbed by death as eyes fade away,
Grim reaper calls we obey.

Residents smile come to their death call
As their time fade like leaves in fall.

Truly all life lead to the silent tone,
And leave with human decency alone.
I remember as I watched the elderly residents waiting for their final destination, I did my best to keep their human dignity by treating them as a person, because i knew grim reaper was near.  Reflecting it back, it kinda saddens me to know they struggled to keep their livelihood consistent, and I only did my job in the senior housing.  I saw their eyes showed so much hidden thoughts kept within them, but in their eyes i knew one day I will be there in due time, but all I did was my job! I shall cherish their memories and honor them in my mind, and with what little ink I can express, because grim reaper is there waiting for us all!

Within sunlit shores,
fallen feathers, black and white
entwine helplessly.

'Under God' is no longer comfortable.
How can it be, with the company?
Spiritual Laws cannot precis
morality with integrity.
Sunday Prayers can't contain
all the complexities
of humanity's
Spirituality.

The tolls imposed
on primary roads to righteousness
cause an exodus
to less exclusive paths
where a moral minority
seek a more patient deity.

lies are only lies to those who know
i've watched the lights flick out of the brightest eyes.
  light but no shadow

cloaked by thunder and into the murky river's flow
some tell others the dark is only right at night
lies are only lies to the ones that know

death clinically reaps and sows
men, women, and children all break the same
    light but no shadow

the living walk blind, their hearts show
shades of gray, and with grief on its way, right or wrong: they will grow
lies are only lies to the ones that know

and if i were to bleed for tomorrow
my wound would ooze grey, dripping into the far and unknown
    light but no shadow

the sun and moon do not glow the same glow
on the shade that would reveal that good isn't always good
and lies are only lies to those who know
    light but no shadow
