You crept in my life
Like a sudden gust of wind
Caught in your web
I swore I'd never play in.
You saw my spirit
Through the shadows I cast
But now I'm left to wonder
Will the web you wove last?
A void,
Empty of all,
A divide,
Between our souls,
I stand,
Afraid of falling,
I listen,
And hear you calling,
I look,
I see despair below,
A ravine,
Filled with dark sorrow,
I step,
And trip and fall,
Air rushing,
The end of the long haul,
I land,
My body crushed,
Life leaves me,
My song is hushed.

At least, that's what would have happened
If your hand there to grab me hadn't
Pulled me up so much higher,
Where things got so much brighter.

Tuesday came unannounced and declared its importance
ushering hours, sweeping boredom
Tuesday left unnoticed

“I lie to protect, to protect from sheer ignorance” said he
“Acceptance, For the highest bidder!” said she

between two red cheeks
And the name is spelled

He was so in love
With the way she
Spun words
Scintillating with brilliance
To the point it became
An obsession
With how magic and wonder
Floated so effortlessly around her
And was oblivious to the fact that
He was caught,
Forever trapped in her web.
