One evening
after work
I began to walk
from the railway station
along the footpath
joining an acquaintance
on the way
to accompany and converse
amicably I thought
at first
but he became aloof
and hostile
ignoring my bonhomie
why
I had no idea
so crossed the road
estranged
shocked and ashamed.

We used to be so close
We played and relied so much on each other
But time is so cruel
To create this deafening distance
A distance that seems so far
I am not that friend anymore

How have you been?
What have you been up to?
It seems like I won't be able to ask
Why has it gone this way
Its harsh I know
Its time where we have to part

I will treasure the times we had
The laughters and sorrows
The times where we tried to find ourselves
They are oh so precious to me
Your chapter in my life has come to a close
So farewell my friend

Hi my acquaintance
Your presence is valued
But then again it will never be the same
Lets just move on
So bye my acquaintance
Hope to see you again

I envy you
How you so eloquently manipulate words
The brilliant vocabulary you have
I wish I could
Instead, I pour over your thoughts
Wondering how you do it
How it is so natural
Then again
They are just words
And I still don’t know a **** thing about you

The Declaration of Friendship is an idea I have heard from other friends of mine and that I am building on. You could call this a sociology lesson maybe?
We will start out with a base line of Stranger Danger most people in the universe would fall under this category because we do not know most people in the world we fear them. We fear the unknown

now we have what I would call the acquaintance level we will start off with negative and then go positive.

Acquaintance Negative is someone who knows you and you don't really like each other or get along very well but you will tolerate it.

Until it goes to Dislike Status where you cant stand each other and very few people fall under this level for most people.

Acquaintance Positive is someone you know who you enjoy being around when its easy for you to see them and some times cool stuff happens sometimes it doesn't. I would say a majority of people would fall under this level. Its not a bad place to be but its not the top level of a social relationship either.

Friendship this is the level that all other levels build on how do we define it? Who is a “True Friend”? How do we reach this level?
