Weakness
My bones feel weak
Round my eyes spin

Like the earth
Faster, faster I go
Spiral downwards, tipsy over the edge
It creeps out, inside it goes

Peeling and peeling the layers
Crimson, red and hot
This is not my skin

Mr Shankley
I kissed a girl with a broken smile;
nothing could come near.
She carved it with a pocket knife;
slit from ear to ear.
And she wears it like her favourite scarf;
it keeps her from the cold.
So I told her its only woven by
her enemies of old.
At a certain point during war,
you’ll wander out
among the galaxies,
among the whirling particles,
and ineffable numbers,

Feeling something that has no name,
like a thunderbolt through darkness
A storm unpredicted,
The horrible errors of our childhood,

Seeing with my inward eye,
A natural reaction to moving closer to the truth,
Life’s continuing promise,
Grounded in love

      —I like listening to you
life is short- yet still,
they don't start living until
death comes near the door
just a little blurb of thoughts

My heart is hollow
no more will I mend and maintain

Let it turn to rust
the shards will scatter
forgotten, left smothered in dust

The thick black clouds are expanding
I am no longer able to see the walls of my mind.
A hurricane swirling around my heart
no more love for you to find.
