Thank you for visiting. This poem is a lantern (1,2,3,4,1) (?). Each makes a statement with double meanings, including the title, with all four tied together. Often I think I lose many readers (see the views) because they don't understand my poetry (story of my life). To July nothing will ever change.
Sun
The Sun is just another
In an endless sky of stars
If we saw it from far away
Would we know it was ours?

It isn't too remarkable
In any special way
An ordinary little star
That rides the Milky Way

But when seen from our point of view
The Sun is like a god
So wonderful, so full of light
So powerful, so hot

It's bright enough to light the sky
And paint it blue and gold
It shines on us, it grows the plants,
It warms us when we're cold

I think we would love any star
That brought us so much light
But our Sun is the only one
That shines on us this bright

Sometimes the ones who look
Ordinary from far away
Will dazzle you if you will
Just give them the time of day
If only you'd take me for a fool
And not take me for granted like you do
I would rather live on in some ignorant bliss
Than taste the reality of this deathly kiss
For this is too easy to understand
This is too easy to lose ourselves in
If you would only take me for another and not as I am
To lay me down on this cold hard ground
Pick up my pieces in some different form
A brand new me raised from your ideal storm

If only you'd take me for a fool
As fools are the ones who fall in love
Whose words seem to fall from the stars above
Dancing till dawn under cider filled skies
They are the ones that carry life in their eyes
So rescue me from this vagueness that consumes
Our daily routine of me versus you
And yet maybe you do, at night when i dream
Delivering my innocence rebirthed anew
For only a fool could keep returning to you
You
You saw me when I was trying
To cloak myself in invisibility
Came around looking for me
Not for my body
But for my energy and soul
You made an impact that first night
Sitting by your side
I knew everything was right
Everytime you spoke
It healed me
You healed me
You have come to show me
How not to run from love
But
To let it consume me
Take over my senses
And reprogram

I saw one Star in the sky tonight
And I thought it looked lonely
Where were its friends?
Where were the other stars who cared for it?
Where were the stars who were supposed to stop it from doing bad things?
Why was it stranded, and not at home with its star family
Why was it alone, not even hanging with the other stars
Why was it looking as though someone had abandoned it
After a while of staring at this Star
I realized I identified with it
I was alone in my mind.
Stranded.
Abandoned.
Then the Star started to move
That's when I realized it was not a star but a plane, escaping the lonely night
Not even my mind can stay and care
Even my mind abandoned me.
My Star left me all alone, to fend for myself
My Star who related, who understood
My Star who was alone in his mind

Your family yells and I wish I can help,
Your family beats but I still wish to meet,
Your family drinks and I still need to jinx,
You a better life.
You don't deserve this,
You say you do, but you don't.
Trust me, I won't stop saying this, I won't!
I love you as a friend, you know I do
How can I make you believe me, what's new with you?
I need for you to understand, so you don't become a shrew,
Will you ever love me as I've loved you?

poetry runs like blood through my veins
words strung together to emote beauty
or pain, a beautiful necklace wrapped
tightly around my throat, the things
I'm dying to say dripping from
the tip of my tongue. Honey or poison,
both sticking to my gritted teeth,
unable to escape and create
the beautiful poetry
bleeding on the page

And wisdom went with her frozen
In glass like snow white's coffin
And what was known singed ash
As petals amongst futility's cry

And knowledge became singed ash.
