All is for the best she says
Heart upon the ground
Each day the sun sets
Once more
Tomorrow brings hope
Somewhere to be found
It's something to hold on
to
With each breath
She takes
The idea of a whisper
Lost for all the time
It takes
A notion of a smile
Found somewhere in belief
Buried and covered
Beneath the lies you told her
Some she believed
She slowly picks up a piece
To place it back together
Another missing
Each day the sun rises
Once more to welcome
Her home
With open arms
And a spirit that
Might one day
Be whole

I need music
Like I need oxygen to breath
Without her I would die

Do you possess the ability
To connect?
To feel that knee
Upon your neck?
Does a tear flow from your watching eyes
When another human being dies?
Have you a soul of love and light
To guide your people through this night?

A change of venue
Perhaps..
Wake the Beast from his nap!
The sleep walking elite
Bound to live on their knees
Slaves to envy, hate and greed
Change is what we all need
Cause..
Indifferences is but a disease

I’ve felt that foot there before
Unable to breathe on the floor
There will always be an indentured space
Where society laid my soul to waste
But I won’t standby silently still
While innocent black folks are getting killed

Traveler Tim
I'm trailer trash
And you're the tattered wheels

Run me over
Vilipended shrew

This place is full of
Rabid raccoons
And collect calls

Someone's got to pay

Maybe we can milk
A cash cow
Or plant a money tree
Between grandma
And the shed

A game of miniature golf
Always helps my mind
Get back on par
(More or less)

Then it's back to the bus stop
And be done with you
BLT's continued challenge - to write a poem using the Merriam-Webster word of the day, vilipend.

There is no right and wrong ever.
Once we realise a truth
it can never be unrealised.
It is.
Colouring it in shades of
right and wrong
doesn’t enhance or diminish it.
In an open mind the truth dawns.
To know something as it is,
may be the realisation
that saints talk about.
Where the difference between
the knower and known ends.
That brief moment of realisation
is all that it is.
When the dissection begins
words are inadequate and inaccurate. However you can never
“unknow” once you know.
