We can all do with a hug some days -
Some kind words

And the presence of someone who believes in you
Who will never let you down
Who doesn't make you feel insignificant and small
Who appreciates and doesn't condemn
Who won't pull you low
But helps you get up
Who can flip a frown to a smile
Add a little glow
And turn tears to a tickle
Someone who can bring a spring in the step
And a twinkle in the eye
We can all do with love -
When the chips go down
Or even when the wheels are up

We can all do with a hug somedays
So here's one for you.
a consummate character actor
came to the footlight stage
his performances critically acclaimed
in entertainment's grand page

Burton nor Sir John Gielgud
had not a patch on his prowess
in all facets of the craft
this star did certainly impress

at The Crown Theatre he played
a bearded vagabond
who wandered the Yorkshire Dales
and further beyond

he received many an accolade
for a gripping role in "Where Is The Maid"
the plot centred around
an English castle's moated ground

scripts by the score keep
flooding in each week
as directors love working
with the sensational Edward Deek
There is a woman named Kitty
Who delivers lines so witty
The sharpness of each of them
Cuts through a laugher's stem
Slicing repartee Kitty will spree
a blaze of stars*
decorate the bush sky's darkness
a blaze of stars
their lighting is like glitter bars
twinkling in arraying brightness
exhibiting beautifulness
*a blaze of stars
highlights the remaining sparks of humanity
starts conversation while bringing out insanity
lets us feel free
since the real beauty
is the responsibilities' reduction
and the consequences' destruction

I'll be the first
though it's hardest to admit
What you say?
Impatience

Like a predator
Ready to pounce
In an instant
A sharp Crack
Stab of words!

So Impatient

Still.....

It lingers on me
I am unable to deliver
demands you seek
I am stiff like a cold
hard drink held in your fingers
I sting
until I am tasteless
Impatience

Paper...check
Pen...check
Have I forgotten anything
Oh yea, that little item I refer to as a brain

So I guess I best unpack this mess
From inside my cranium
Take it out and dust it off
If this job is to get done

If I could only find where I put that rhyme
Was it in pile right or in pile left
Maybe it slipped out of my head
While I slept tight last night in my bed

As I make my way from the start of this day
One thing I'm sure I'll find
Insanity I think for me will be good company
On this here poetic ride
