You called me your moon,
Knowing I didn't sleep very much,
Like I watched over you at night,
Like I kept the shadows at bay,
Like I could see you more than a handful of times a year,
I,
I think of you often.
You're an entire galaxy,
But the sky's the limit...
I could never get enough of you,
And you could barely comprehend my existence,
You see me, looking at you
And you smile,
But you don't see me,
I thought you did,
I thought a lot, think a lot,
Maybe I'm getting mixed signals,
Electrochemical signals,
Neurons transmitting to neurons,
Misperception or mere deception?
You're so much more than I could ever hope to have and,
I... Shudder,

You called me your moon,
Knowing I didn't sleep very much,
Except now you're one of the reasons why,
You're coffee,
Just more addictive,
More attractive,
And it's easier to sleep with caffeine in my veins than you in my mind.

You're a drug disguised as a sugar cube,
The craving came as a shock,
And hangs over like a storm cloud.

You like roses,
I didn't know you liked the thorns too,
I never even considered that you'd find your way through the briar,
That you'd find your way into my head.

You called me your moon,
Knowing I don't sleep very much.

But the moon is a beautiful thing.

The wind blows through your hair
At much higher speeds
Twenty stories up

The world scales down
Like a model
Twenty stories up

Two hundred feet drops off
In a surreal fashion
Twenty stories up

You think you can survive the fall
Landing on a soft pillow of cement
Twenty stories up

I told her not to leave
She never came down the stairs she used to go
Twenty stories up

It feels great to let go
Of both the world and your self
Twenty stories up

My life wouldn't feel as empty
If they wouldn't let you go
Twenty stories up

04.35 am
Bon Iver  is playing quietly
For Emma  is set on repeat
I'm hiding under the covers
Music is my sleeping pill
Tonight my mouth refuse to swallow it
So awake I lay
With the drapes drawn
Hoping to finally get some rest
Bon Iver is playing:
'For all you're lies,
You're still very loveable.'
While I pretend that
For Emma is my song

Each day she went to her garden, to look at him pass by

Her eyes unblinking, she watched him, circle in the sky.

Fleecy clouds veiled the sunlight, so she would not go blind

The girl was filled with love for him body, soul, and mind.

Yet he never even noticed her, for his mind was overwrought,

For he was in love with another, and it was her that his eyes sought.

As time passed, her passion for him, never diminished in size,

She longed for him to acknowledge her, and look into her eyes.

So one time she sat for nine days, just watching him from afar,

No food or water did she consume, her love burnt like a star.

On the tenth day the Gods took pity and so upon the hour,

They turned the love struck girl into a beautiful sunflower.

The flower is turned toward the sun from sunrise to sunset,

Still watching her loved one fly, never wanting to forget.
