ever since you left, it all feels different.
the stars are just stars. the wind just wind.
along with the moon, and sunsets, the ripples in the water, and everything in between.
without you everything is just as it was before and i don't feel like writing about them anymore.

Look at them
noticing me,
I think they finally see
through the dark of me,
the demon inside.
I was beginning to
believe I was living.
Possibly breathing
But I was dreaming,
thinking they'd see me.
They believed me
deceased

"you're my siren,"
he confessed to the hollow of my neck.
"each kiss is a song,
and i would swim across
the entire ocean
to hear every note."

I let them come and go
Taking what they need
I give them what they like
Men are too easy to please

Small talk flows
Before we cut to the chase
Ripping up grass
And keeping the same pace

He is a friend
And a lover for an hour
Sharing something so sweet
But we turn it sour

I let him come and go
To ease the pain
Making pleasure my companion
To keep me sane

We agree it is a one-time thing
And promise controlled hands
But we will be tempted again
While striving to withstand
For RS

For adding one more reason to my mental list of "reasons why I hate myself"

You could illuminate as bright as the North Star
but you're settling for a shine as insignificant as
a street light in a crowded city.

Anne Sexton
The town does not exist
except where one black-haired tree slips
up like a drowned woman into the hot sky.
The town is silent. The night boils with eleven stars.
Oh starry starry night! This is how
I want to die.

It moves. They are all alive.
Even the moon bulges in its orange irons
to push children, like a god, from its eye.
The old unseen serpent swallows up the stars.
Oh starry starry night! This is how
I want to die:

into that rushing beast of the night,
****** up by that great dragon, to split
from my life with no flag,
no belly,
no cry.
