I have reached the edge
phantom burdens hover beneath my feet
providing the extra weight
to keep me grounded
I run out of track
ultimately leading to my demise
I'd like to think I would have continued
slowly trekking upward
a singular course
I need not get off
but I turn
and take the scenic ride
floating down over the distance once covered
a changing season may bear differing results
"Trekking" -verb

A crescent moon in mellow skies-
My heart, she beats for you.
Just as the ocean wanes her tide,
The moon is fading too.
-::-
Before you go I’ve one more task;
Once more you now must do.
Look to me past oceans, vast—
And say you’ll miss me too..
- you’re already gone and fading away. I never had you to begin with. Bright as the moon but as far as the horizon line, tell me you want me

I’m no stranger to rejection
I only need to hear no once
And I can accept it...

... to a certain extent

Just know if you’re rejecting me
I’ll take your answer seriously
But I’ve already crafted a fantasy in my mind
Where you’ve said yes a thousand times
Poetry has to rhyme
No it doesn’t
That lie is just a crime
It’s meant to fixate
To inflate
The curious mind
The literate kind
Words in a verse
The gold in the purse
Of a creative person

Poetry has to rhyme
No it doesn’t
Your wrong this time
Its meant to uplift
To drift
Into a person thoughts
A charm of sorts
Letters in a line
All beautiful and fine
To read everyday

you were golden
and filled with fire

exploding with life
you flickered and flared

in my washed out,
moonless night
i was silver and cold

and i found myself drawn
like a moth to a flame
and i thought i would burn.

but when our paths brushed
and i lingered too close
to the sun...

you were warm, you were warm
(and you would never hurt me)
perihelion / noun
the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is closest to the sun.

Sometimes I dream
Others it's just dark
The night sky it seems
A journey to embark
My mind wanders
Leave my mortal shell
In the heavens I must dwell
Undefinable splendors
Beautiful mosaics
Painted by the cosmos
The essence of life
From starlight we grow
My brethren watch the moon
Our tide has come in
We ride the solar wind
Our sails at full boom

We search for a new sunrise
Valhalla calls to me

The night sky is so far beyond
being described by some
primitive technology such as language.

I fall in love with her over and over.

My lips remember her feet
in every sip of anything.

Over and over.
