Lost and confused, he found a path.
He followed it like the yellow brick road
Looking to find the wizard of Oz
For his one and only wish - HAPPINESS.

Yet, the yellow brick road he followed
Only led him to a path of self-destruction;
Because along the way he discovered distractions
To numb the pain until he found the wizard.
Until he found happiness.

He found comfort in those distractions
Which quickly turned into addictions.
Now he is stuck ,
In the middle of that yellow brick road .

Because the distractions he discovered along the way
Were destroying his soul; one bottle of *****
And bag of **** at a time.

A part of him has given up on finding the wizard.
So he indulges in his own self-destruction; stuck on a path that was meant to save him. To save him from himself.

A Lorraine
unheard
unseen
unconscious
uninterested
unloved
unwanted
unbecoming
unable
unnamed
unattached
unattractive
unbounded
unchanged
I feel
all of these things
at once.

Inside my shell
All is well
Inside my shell
There is no hell
Inside my shell
My voices no longer yell
Inside my shell
Is safely where I dwell

But my shell cracked
It's all turned black
My shell is cracked
I'm flat on my back
My shell is cracked
I'm under attack
My shell is cracked
My knife it flashed
My shell is cracked
My blood just splashed
MY shell is cracked
My death is a fact

My views on immortality and depression are equal
You can't die if you're immortal and depression lets you feel dead inside
Nothing can hurt you more because you survived it and felt nothing at all
And you keep surviving the same old routine wondering if it even affected you like it used to.
Cursed with immortality
Pain is the passage between life and death
You scream and cry because you don't feel the pain
Feel nothing at all
And by the time you're 50 the marks should already be visible and tell tales of hope and survival
Even if you're lying by then, you don't wish them the immortality that got you stuck in the first place

I believed every word and emotion,
you must of used a potion,
I don't believe anyone!
But somehow you won,
I was played like an instrument, inanimate and serving you.

You just said the word and I was a slave,
I thought it was for love and I was brave,
I thought it would be something I crave,
even if at the start I saw you give me a goodbye wave.
*It's all fine now that I'm numb and dumb forever...

Loneliness.

It creeps in at night like a two-headed serpent,
Unwelcome and Unannounced.
Like a plague, it eats at you in order to make its presence known.

No prayers nor tears can chase it away because once it has you in its grip, it's impossible to escape.

So you search the world for love, the only cure you know to cure its poisonous bite.
But if one is not careful, even the so-called antidote that is love could be more dangerous than the loneliness that runs through your veins like disease.
I've just discovered the beautiful art of poetry and trying it out. Let me know what you think.
