Certain Things.
Maryam El-Driney Oct 2014
There are certain things
I wish I could change.
LikeĀ  how the sun rises so fast,
You never have enough time
To be alone with the clear night sky.
And how the winter
Only lasts so long,
It's never enough for me
The short coldness of
The tender grey skies.

There are certain things
I wish I could change.
Like the way you smile
Only to her face,
So real and genuine.
I wish you'd always smile,
But never only to her face.
And the way I don't own you no more,
I wish I could change that.
But the world is cruel
And I'm no longer willing to fight.
No longer wishing
I could certain things change

With No Doubt.
Maryam El-Driney Sep 2014
She thought it was
So bright,
With no doubt
She threw herself
Into the opened arms
Of the develish world.

Into darkness she fell.
Into non existing
Good she fell.
She found nothing
But darkness
And murdered pride.

She thought it was
So bright,
With no doubt
She looked for the good
She reckoned was hidden.
Finding nothing
But remorse
She closed her eyes
Prayed and traveled
To the non existing light.

She thought it was
So bright,
With no doubt
She fell in love with evil
Disguised in freedom.
She thought the wrong
Was right,
For he told her
That here it is different;
Here evil is good
And pride we have not.

She thought it was
So bright,
With no doubt
She followed the devil.
She did every kind
Of fault,
And felt every sting of guilt.

She no longer saw
A thing so bright,
And with no doubt
She cursed her mind,
And  so her heart.
She placed her mind
Where great people do,
And for the rest of her days
She promised to hate
The world and the race.

"I'm sorry" It said.
Maryam El-Driney Sep 2014
Shrugged the princess
The one with the ice cold guilt;
The guilt of surviving
When nobody else did.

A princess she'd become
For which she lost her soul.
Filled with despair,
She was in the permanent state
Of the freezed misery
She proudly chose.
She was no longer bright,
She had no longer light.
The fancy dresses
Seemed dull,
And the heavy joules
Seemed light.

She saw the stars
For what they really are.
The fearful eyes
Of the hell that awaits.
The vague thoughts of hers
Gave her nothing
But more remorse.

The princess weeped
The Poverty's tears,
Those whom she once
Belonged to.

Shrugged the princess
And stopped breathing.
Left her dress hanging
Along with her neck.
On the ground lied a note
"I'm sorry."
It said.

The 9 Stars.
Maryam El-Driney Sep 2014
1,2,3...3 stars are up
In my dark blueish sky.

4,5,6...6 stars are shining-
Shining bright
In my dark blueish sky.

7,8,9...9 stars are wandering-
Wandering with pride
In my dark blueish sky.

The 9 stars were up there,
Being nothing but superb
Being everything but resinful
Being only true to who they are.
Unlike you my friend,
They are bright stars.

A star might be
A burning ball summoned from hell.
Still the burning ball
Stole your girl's curious eyes.
A ball of hell
Showed more affection
To a girl you claim to love.

You might be shy,
But unlike you my friend
My 9 stars are flickering-
Flickering with charm.
You love your girl,
Your girl loves you,
But still the night after every day
Is her date with my stars.
The date that you-
That you can't deny.

So tell me my friend,
Where does your pride lie?
Will you ever wake up
From your ever lasting petrify?
Will you ever stand up to the stars?
Will you ever roar
"This girl is only mine"?

Somewhere.
Maryam El-Driney Sep 2014
Somewhere
And out of nowhere,
The girl came out,
And the boy was already there.
The girl left promises behind,
And started off her nothing.
The boy was lost in the mess
Already.

They met somewhere
That was actually a nowhere.
Friends they became,
And so lost without one another
They grown to be.

She told him her little secret,
About the boy with the short legs.
He told her his little secret,
Abouth the girl who owned his heart.
They both kept the secret,
And cherished one another.

But one night
The beast came out
Locked the girl,
And built a wall between the girl
And the boy.

The girl was lost,
And the boy was too,
But one day the girl
Made a hole,
In the strong strong wall,
And the boy and the girl
Had some little talk.

But the beast woke up,
And broke the girl to pieces,
Pieces that healed too slow.

The boy was there,
Left all alone.
He didn't know,
About the pain
the pain the girl drowned in.
The boy felt abandoned,
And the girl was helpless.

Until one day the girl found a pen.
She wrote him a poem,
She hoped he'd understand,
And maybe remember her,
For all she ever wanted
Was to be simply remembered

Their Town.
Maryam El-Driney Sep 2014
The boys and the girls
Of the town,
Were all lost in the mist
Of a world divided
Into the good and the worse.

They thought justice exists,
And they hoped that
Redeemable their town was.

They figured the fault
In them laid,
And replicas of their grand ancestors
They became.
Sure they were of how
Unredeemable their town was.

The men and tha ladies
Of the town,
Were eccentric.
Were all stuck in a reality,
Which the boys and the girls
Of the town
Believed is quite redeemable
