Inside her head lived a dark cloud
That dampened all her thoughts
And roared with thunder storms so loud
The lightning like gunshots

The cloud got bigger all the time
With the turmoil that it stored
It got so big, it made her rhyme
But when it rained, it poured

She rained, and rained, and rained, and drowned
She rained until she dried
But no one ever heard a sound
She stuffed it back inside

She sometimes felt she got it out
And could almost see the sun
But just because she had a drought
Didn't mean that she had won

She kept a little residue
To metastasize again
That's why she always feels so blue
Why melancholy is her friend
Take me off the pedestal
I am not what you see
That man's a miscreation
It's what i'd like to be

Take me off the pedestal
For it is far too high
For if I trip, slip, or fall
You'll think I was a lie

Take me off the pedestal
One cannot comprehend
To think 'tis where I stand
Make me not king, but friend

Take me off the pedestal
I've never felt so wrong
But please, oh please keep me in
your heart- that's right where I belong
Long time no see, folks.
She is a beautiful sight
As she she walks across the room
To fetch my creamy delight

Oh how i miss her so
Standing there across the room
At a counter of cream froze

And i know shell be back soon
So i have to say goodbye
Cause im a goon
Ice cream
The abstract acrobat

How you going to catch me with those tiny arms,
tiny dancer,
i don’t mean you no harm.

Those words you said went over my head,
and who needs a safety net when your safe in my arms.

Swing with me bambino,
i’m a monkey at best,
an ape at my worst,
I’m not sure what you expect.

Pirouette on those tiptoes that keep your feet on the ground,
It’s futile to get high if we never come down.

You heard me before,
purgatory flaws,
emerging to the sound of applause,

Those circus circumstances,
freak show romances,
We take chances beneath those bright lights.
Each and every night,
we take chances beneath those bright lights,

To the delight of the crowds.
She was half a woman
and half a forest on fire,
you'd either die by her soft hands
or carbonized by her warm breath.
I'll still be waiting for you in the silence
when all my souls are set on fire
only to give you space
to find home
inside of
me.
I lay close to you,
Curled to the shape of your stonework body
Tracing the vines crawling on your arms
To the lavenders springing
From your cracked palms
And your back is the meadow I bury myself in
Half-picking foxgloves and goldenrods
Growing on your spine

Day after day, I watch you
Wondering about the dreams behind
Your eyelids covered in moss,
Softly kissing the dandelion dust
Collecting on your cheeks
While stringing a garland of daisies
To wear around your head

I sit here, longing to taste the dewdrops
Hanging at the corners of your mouth
But until your wake, I will await
The sweet honeysuckle
That is your tongue
