We are all silhouettes
Wrapped in the tapestry
Of a blooming night
Outlines etched messily
Into a cotton wool sky
Beautifully imperfect
A stray wisp illuminates
Sings sweet like our
Honey bee laughs
We smile, always
Endlessly sunshine yellow
For here we are youth
Wild like dandelions
Rebelling against being
A common flower
We paint the word ****
In shining glitter
Send it to outer space in
A paper airplane
Then dance on crazily
Like the night is infinite
Dreaming for a forever
Something a bit different

White Widow
Tentacles grasping for nutrition
Soaking in everything around you.
Filled with visceral emotion overload
Angered by the world's injustices
You must then express yourself in ink

To empty.

A Milestone
Should not be a millstone,
Weighting your Spirit.

Rather, a stepping stone
Buoyed in the water of life.

Used to keep you
Above water
As you bridge the gap.

Milestones should not
Be millstones.

Rather, paver stones
Used to mark your path.
Where you've been.
Where you're going.
Forming a pleasing pattern
In the Earth to gaze upon.
To excitedly anticipate.

Milestones should not
Be millstones.
To grind you down
While you continue to grow.

Rather, gem stones
That glitter with the light
Marking the Blessings
Along your path.

Milestones are not millstones.

Unless you see them that way.
Special milestone for me tomorrow; I'm not where I had envisioned for myself, but I'm learning to enjoy the journey!

If I could
I would have chosen as a pet
the delicate creases
left by your feet
in the wet sand
I would have fenced them
in a comforting womb
made of splendid castles
of sea and sand and shoal
waiting for them to deepen
into fine groves where I can seed
the scent of brine
the salt of your taste
the gleam of your eyes
cultivating all
so they can grow and feed
my awe stricken soul
On this lovely September morn
It's time for congratulations
Into this world a child is born
Lets raise a glass in celebration.

He starts his world with lulabbys
Parents are there with a guiding hand
To help to see that he gets by
Untill on his own he can make a stand.

But that is many years away
No need to think so far ahead
All that matters is this lovely day
As mother is resting in her bed.

But tomorrow will be another day
With his first steps on life's road
A world that that will be full of play
The future no one knows.

So let's take in this special time
Where all the family gather round
Mother and newborn are doing fine
She smiles when hearing his very first sound.
My wife's wife best friends daughter in law gave
Birth to a baby boy September 20th .she asked me to write a poem
So I wrote this poem .I hope you like it.

Mike Hauser
he is just a poet
too many years now to count

occupies time by setting to rhyme
all the hidden words his pen pours out
it seems there's a never-ending stream
of words that freely flow
from the end of the pen into this poets hand
that never seem to let him go
blowing with ease this poetic breeze
seldom seen but often felt

he is just a poet
too many years now to count

If I could somehow explain
Surely I would
Contrary to so many thinking they know
For some of us
It is barely understood
The opposite of it can get lost in the unknown
Obviously I'm speaking of finding my way home

Today autumn arrived
I watched it creep into my room
through an open window

In my bones a familiar feeling thrived
I watched the leafs fall around noon
from the trees below

Coldness came to greet me anew
a comfort of sorts
and I felt so very calm

Warmth came to meet me too
the rooms of one's own turn into charming resorts
candles, tea and a blanket become a weary soul's balm

With it came nostalgia
it slowly made its way under my skin
while colors change the outside

Do you know of this certain cardialgia
your heart is heavy but light but also filled to the brim
while memories of distant winters reach far and wide

Welcome my chilling beloved
my cold season of frozen solid dreams
I was eagerly waiting for your return

For you I ready my coat, already half gloved
I give myself to you by all means
and underneath my halcyon flesh I will quietly yearn
