beware when you fall in love
with an artist
be it a painter, a singer, or poet

for the artist will
paint you
with strokes and hues
in shapes of every kind

sing about you
with heartbreak lyrics
and feelings which rhyme

write about you
with the simplest words
and a secret message she wants to say

beware of the artist,
and her love
one wrong move
and you're an artwork in her display
Faded perfume tonight on your neck
Shattered spine heartless and torn
As a wintry frost unfolds
Shamed moans that I believed
Leaving scars in the lowest trees

I want you to know
that the pain you are feeling
is only temporary
that the heartache you're
experiencing
will soon be gone.
I want you to know
that you are all loved
and even though
you hurt today
you will thrive tomorrow.
I want you to know
that you are all beautiful
on the inside and outside
and are perfect just how you are.
I want you to know
that you are all
wonderful people.
Believe in the power of love and friendship.

You lose her when you don’t notice that
she notices everything about you

You lose her for every second you make
her feel less and less of the beauty that she is

You lose your love for her
& you lose her.

“Sorry I can’t do this anymore.”
“Sorry I don’t want things to be weird.”
“Sorry I don’t want you to get hurt.”
“Sorry, you don’t deserve me acting like this.”

If words could heal, my eyes wouldn’t start tearing every time someone asks “are you okay?”

I wouldn’t feel broken every time I hear your name or think about what we had, or didn’t have.

If “sorry” actually made things okay,
then some things wouldn’t be as painful as they are.

Having you say sorry actually makes it worse.

Why are you apologizing? Just don’t,
don’t even bother, please.

No many how many times you say it,
it doesn’t change the fact that
it still hurts.

I am sorry but your apologies don’t make things okay.

oh me oh my
i thought.

you tasted like lust and you smelt like wintergreen and your hands were feathers and tickled my skin.

i know.

you tasted like skoal.
you smelt like smoke.
your hands felt like regret.
that's all you left me with. regret.
