Don't judge me by my looks
And don't read me by the books
I am brash and I am kind
I am hard to define
I am bold. I am shy
I am grounded, but I fly
I love, and I give
I cradle, I forgive
Though soft I may feel
I am thunder, I am steel
I am smiles and I am laughter
I am happily ever after
I am tears and I am ache
I am a mess when I break
I hold tightly, but I know
When it's time to let go
I am dove, I am hawk
I am the rose and the rock
I am rain. I am sun
I am I. I am woman

Thank you all so much **
Dearest everyone, thank you so much for your likes, loves, reposts.  Thank you so much for all your wonderful and encouraging responses. This is a small,  simple poem and I wasn't certainly expecting all the attention it has received. I am grateful to all of you talented poets and readers. I am so happy that it was chosen as a daily - it's a wonderful feeling. Love to all.

I am also very thankful to Conrad Druger van den Bergh, an excellent poet and wonderful friend who inspired this x

I don't need
     your     namaste flower-
power    poetry         words
     that       barely break   the
skin               give me something
strong like gin     something with
a little                sin.

        I don't want your
fluffy words               I want something       seldom heard
    something I          can always use
something that'll        leave a bruise
           so bomb the page I'll
light                the                 fuse.

You being gone
made me fear the dawn
I was scared to wake and find you back once more
but you never did I guess I was a bore

I'm sick of having to sit back and think
being forced to take gulps of you poisonous drink
I want to be wanted by you like I should have been
I guess I wasn't good enough
please try again

I was swimming in the dark
treading water knowing there was no spark
I was all alone

until I was showed home

Ever since that day
I have been remade
I have been showed there is another way
To fill the void that you had made

So carry on to your rock
I don't want to make you stop
I don't care if you here or there
I have a new daddy who lives up stairs.
To: My biological father
I'm so glad I met Jesus.

The high

Try, Try
try to say hi
to the people who just pass me by.
Cry, cry
time to cry
I cry so much my throat goes dry.
Lie, lie
all I do is lie
they say that I should just go and die.
So bye, bye
It's time to say bye
I guess you can't always be on that high.

So you think it's okay
to  cause her pain
does it give you something to gain
to see her insane

she tries to not cry
she tries to get by
she tries to stop feeling regret
for all of her lies

she lays awake
trying to shake
the deep feeling inside her
that caused her to break

she feels all alone
she no longer has a home
she tries screams out
why couldn't he have just left me alone

but instead she is blue
for no one will want you
if you have
something to rue

Don't.

Don't tell a rose how to grow,
And The birds how to chirp.
Don't tell your daughter to be soft,
Don't tell your son how to hurt.

Don't tell the sky what color to bleed,
And a person, the right way to grieve.
Don't try to tame your daughter's tongue,
Don't tell your son the manly ways to love.

Don't tell the wind which way to blow
Or the clouds how hard to rain.
Don't teach your daughter how to soak,
Don't show your son how to easily reject.

Don't tell the sun to adjust its light
Or the truth how to show itself.
Don't tell your daughter it's feminine to shy,
Don't teach your son how to reign with fists held high.

Don't tell a heart how to beat
Or the mind how not to soar.
Don't clip off your daughter's  wings,
To make them a foundation for your son to grow.

Don't tell a rose how to grow,
Lest it decides to turn its petal into thorns.
Don't tell the birds how to chirp
And have their voices turn into rebellious growls.
Finally, one of my many poems was chosen as a daily.
Just been a 5 years.

I still can't believe it.

Also, thank you for all your reviews and love. I still don't think I'm a poet, I just usually ramble. But I'm so glad you guys gave this poem such love.
Means a lot.

Again, thank you very very much.
